Rob's Trials of Hardship

Ouch! If that was on the inside of your ankle I’d say it looks like a tailpipe burn. What happened?

Ouch indeed. That looks no Bueno, but at least it isn’t bigger. When I read it I was picturing the whole lower half of your leg.

Ouchy. Any chance of training in a cold environment or dressing that up?

I work in a foundry, so as I was filling one of our old furnaces up it caused a splash back of metal. It was aiming for my jewel till I turned just in time and landed on my pants pocket and went straight through and landed there.

So, I dress it up at night and while working, but when I am off work I try to let it breath a bit to help recovery.

Notes:
Since I got engaged about a month ago, both of us wanted to change our lifestyles. I decided to cut off Energy Drinks and chips all together, while she gave up smoking and also chips. I feel a bit more tired during the mornings the last two days as it has been a week since my last monster.

On Monday, we are cutting all Candy/pop(Anything with high Sugar) out of our lives. In which she wants to be able to get rid of her diabetes which was caused from her childhood days.

Cutting out sugar from your diet will have you drop weight like it’s nothing. Good on you.

It depends on your tastes, and black coffee is definitely an acquired taste, but it’s pretty much zero calories and you get your caffeine fix, as well as some antioxidant benefits you don’t get from energy drinks.

Ouch! Thankfully your reflexes kicked in to avoid damage to the jewels!

Good job on cutting out crap from your diet. I imagine you will quickly start feeling and seeing some positive effects from this.

Ouch Rob that looks a bit painful
It looks though as if it’s healing up pretty good.

And good for the two of you to get rid of some bad habits.
Good luck with that

That’s awesome news! Good luck on your journey. Those old habits are stubborn.

Like others have said, cutting out the crap will make a huge difference, and will leave room for bigger meals etc. I actually preferred roasted potatoes over fried chips, and coffee over Monster drinks.

Black coffee is great. Took some experimenting, but now I drink coffee for 90% of the time for my caffeine needs. I had even got myself my own espresso machine for home. I have the occasional cuppacino on the weekend.

Oooouuch. So lucky that did not land on your plums. Hope you heal up soon.
Great work on cutting out the sugar too, you should see some great long term health benefits if you can keep it up.

500lb DL PR Write up:

Heading to the gym after a hot day in the foundry, are 1lb chicken and drank non sugar gatorade. When I got there the warm ups went like this.

135x10 felt slow and sluggish
225x5 pretty solid and quick
315x3 easy
405x1 a bit tough
Added belt
425 x1 moves nice
Flipped a coin to see if I should attempt 1 rep PR or a 3 rep PR.
1 rep won
475x1 came up with easy.
Flipped a coin between a 10 lb PR or a 15lb PR.
15lb won the flip.
Mind set: packed back and forth and told the mothenfuckin weight was going to come up and used the C word aloud in the gym lol.
