So I have backed way off on the bench but the weights still feel heavy. Should feel better in a couple weeks with lighter weights. I just need to be able to make a 6-8 week push to be able to hit the numbers I know im capable of.

Im very happy with the deads so far. I am planning 675x2 next week which will be pretty big for me. I remember this time last year missing a 655 single and having to back off and build up again. I will get a video of my pull next week.

The bench is really making me upset here. The warm ups feel so good but the work sets feel soooo heavy. I really feel like I could bench 315x20 but only 405x1. I will only take a small jump next week and will only press heavy once, Ill see what that does.
Squat
Worked up to 525 and only did 2 reps with it. I thought that maybe the problem was just in my head so I backed off to 495, I only got 1 rep with that. Just felt like I was going toi be crushed, felt weak.
Thats a deload I guess. I might skip the heavy deads next week and see how it goes.

Tryed out some plyos today after reading Josh Bryants article on how he used them. I liked them so I will try them out for a few weeks before I decide what to do.

This is all for today. Felt pretty strong, I think I can up this next week. I broke a bunch of blood vessels in my face and now my face has a bunch of red dots. I have to go to a wedding tomorrow so now my wife is mad, says ill look stupid. I didn’t do anything much really as far as volume goes. I want to try and be fresh for a good deadlift on tuesday.

Benched at the Anvil here in Toronto on monday. I felt strong so I decided to push the weight up to get a video. All the reps felt good but I just hit a wall on number 5. I still think I can beat that next week.

I was feeling really beat up from the bench the night before but I really wanted to give this a go anyway. I felt good for the first rep but the second starting coming out of my hand at the top. This is a commercial gym where I work at so the bar is not the best.
I will not try to better this next week. I will back off and build up again and try to set a 3rm pr before blowing past this. I will double this or more in January. I’m already ahead of where I want to be so im pretty optimistic.

Felt solid under the squat today. I was giving myself a choice between 530-535x5 or just put the 25 on there and make it 545 and see what I can do. Another rep probably wouldnt have been possible but 5-10 lbs more on the bar probably would have went. On rep 4 I think my head almost exploded for real. Face felt beat to shit and I broke a bunch of blood vessels. Good times. Will be hitting a heavy single next week before a deload. Ill get a vid.

So like I thought I could I nailed 410x5. I didnt get a vid though but I will get more as the weight gets heavier. Switching to triples next week. I really think the upper body plyos are doing something. Training my tris more than I ever have has been helping to.
