Did some close grips and they felt like shit. Did some MPs and worked up to 275x1, then did some tri work.

I’m going to ask Mrodock as well but I would love to hear your critique on my DL. I’ve been working on it.

I think it looks ok. You sit in the bottom too long (to me) before you pull. Get that air in and push it into your abs HARD! For me sitting down there with my legs bent would just not work.

Your lower back seems to be rounding but I really think this can fix its self over time.

That was not a max effort for you so its hard to tell what would happen with a heavy weight.

Have you tried pulling with your hips a little higher?

Just get bigger and stronger and all is well.

This was my max about a week ago. People were telling me that my hips were to high

ya people like to say that about everyones hips during a dl. I see that you start with them pretty low and then they shoot up way before the bar moves. Start the movement where you are strongest imo.

I think you are looking at this too hard. When I was at your level I wouldn’t have asked for advice and if someone gave it too me I wouldn’t have cared. I would have just kept putting more weight on the bar and lifting. Im not saying don’t ask, I’m just saying don’t over analyze these things.

Theres not going to be one thing that you are doing and can fix thats going to add weight to your lift. Just keep training hard.

The 570 was a little slower than I had hoped but thats ok, still a pr. The 555x3 before it was very easy and fast. Will be moving on to some doubles and singles, only 3 more heavy squat days before the meet.

Benching today was hell. Worked up 425x1 paused and I was in some incredible tendon pain so I shut it down. Really sucks with the meet so close now. I have been icing and I may try to bench again on thursday. I really want to be able to bench so I can try 500 but not like this. It feels like someone is sticking knives in my biceps in the bottom part of the press.

im getting the same thing now too bro, fuckin sucks. i can barely get under a bar to squat after any benching. lots of ice therapy and anti-inflammatories for me. elbow wraps are making it somewhat manageable for a short time but it gets pretty bad quickly during training

Yes I know its the worst. It hurts the most after squating but I can get through the pain to get the squats in, benching is risking injury. But man, after squats im like almost weeping like a baby.

I think moving your hands out on the squat can help if you have that option. I dont really have that option with the racks I use.

Do either of you guys know what is causing this? Is it because there is a lot more triceps work being done than biceps work?

For me I think its the heavy squats that do it. I can’t move my hands out any more so I am taking too much of the weight in my hands.

Not happy about missing today. 700 was slow but solid though. For some reason I am pulling with my hips lower than before and I dont know why. I might try to fix that.

Not sure what I want to do about my next pulling day. Maybe a deload and then a big pull before the meet or a bigger pull next week and then a 2 week taper.

Tendons held up today so I had to get as much in as I could. I planned 460x2 but I didnt have a spot so I just did a single. Happy with 455 paused, I plan on going 465 next week and then 475 the week after. I should be able to hit at least 475 at the meet.
