I’ve also been thinking about eca but I just don’t feel like I am lean enough yet. I feel like I should already be with in 5 or 10 pounds of my goal before I think about it.
From all the research that I have read and all of the anecdotal experiences that I have been filled in on… E/C is anti-catabolic SLIGHTLY…much like clenbuterol. The only drug/compound that I know of that is intrinsically catabolic by nature and should never be used by someone that is not ALSO using AAS would be T3/T4…
E/C should improve nutrient partitioning at least slightly…and it has been seen to cause less LBM loss in research that I’ve read.
BTW Paulie…I’m thinking I’m roughly 10lbs away from where I need to be…so, I’m with you on that. If I were to use it, I wanted it to be within close distance to my goal and therefore, that ace card so to speak…
You’re looking good man! I’m at about 152-154 but you look bigger than me! One weak spot I see right away is your chest. Shoulders and arms are looking great!
^ Related to the discussion of facko’s food choices. I was actually surprised to hear LN’s take on IIFYM, and it’s honestly made me more open to the concept.
I’m absolutely shit at updating this hahahaha…This Saturday will be 9 weeks out…currently adjusting macros on almost a day to day basis with my coach…I give him pics in the morning along with weight and he tells me my macros for that day…
I’ve kind of hit a new level of leanness I feel and since then…along with dietary fat coming down…it has sort of hit me in the last week or so in regards to hunger. I’m pretty fucking hungry daily…and I feel my body is going to be a real bitch when it comes to getting rid of the lower body fat and back fat…I’ll shoot some updated photos.
Commandments…Layne was one of the first guys to really popularize the notion of IIFYM or flexible dieting and most that he mentored have become overall poster children for the IIFYM thing…he prepped Alberto Nunez and Nunez has practically become known as the IIFYM poptart guy…
I find the concept to be a lot more accepted and utilized in natty BBing circles as opposed to the NPC/IFBB crowd… not to be a dick…but, I’m often times very surprised by the limited scientific knowledge these massive ripped NPC/IFBB competitors actually have in regards to nutritional sciences. Not taking anything away from their physiques…it just surprises me. Some IFBB dudes do practice IIFYM…Dusty Hanshaw comes to mind…Lee Priest was eating kiddy cereal for a long time. In fact, Mike Mentzer wrote THIS: http://i41.tinypic.com/346xcnp.jpg Way back in the day!!
I had included ECA for about a week and half…maybe two weeks? …and I ran out of the E…so, I’ve dropped it for now…at least for the next week or 2. I was feeling a bit odd actually. I read somewhere to up potassium intake if on E/C and I didn’t…my calcium intake is proportionally a lot higher too due to the dairy I eat so, that can cause some electrolyte problems by the way E/C tends to operate. I read this on Lyle McDonalds site I believe…
I cannot prove that this was entirely related to the incident that I had happen to me two nights ago…but, since I’ve dropped the E/C and upped my potassium (in the form of Mortons Lite Salt) …things have improved greatly. Basically, I was experiencing some muscle tightness…borderline cramping…and I’d wake up my calves would feel very tight. I felt tight in my chest at times and very light headed when I’d crouch down and then get up. The other night this culminated in waking up at about 2am in extreme pain…(never ever had a muscle cramp in my life…so I feel it has to have something to do with the E/C) my teardrop portion of my left quad was completely fully contracted and cramped…it was incredibly painful to say the least. It woke me up out of a dead sleep and all I could do was attempt to push/massage it out…it took a solid 2-3 minutes of attempting to walk and massage it out before it stopped contracting so hard. I’ve never experienced that before…freaked me out actually.
So…I dropped the E (due to running out anyway) and like I said…have been utilizing mortons lite salt due to it’s half potassium half sodium profile as I do believe this had something to do with a low potassium intake and a proportionally high calcium intake…

Damn sucks you think the eca might have been giving you issues. I really wanted to see how that helped and how you felt about it’s effectiveness.[/quote]
Well…I think it’s relatively effective for appetite control for the first week or so…other than that, I can’t say that it makes huge difference. Some guys swear by it…
