One of my peeps got a new dog. I spent all day listening to it bark and growl at me. Seriously nerve wracking.
Thought I was going to have to gouge my ear drums out with an ice pick. Ugh!
Most people’s dogs run to me to for some lovin. Not this one, it snapped at me multiple times. I don’t think it’s a nice dog. Hmmmm…
I noticed the new name. Based on our “conversation” I was half expecting something along the lines of “fueled by Chili” I wish my mom would lift like you…Keep up the great work!
Nothing really wrong with the technique as far as I can tell (I am not really a form nazi anyway). I assume you are relatively close to a shoulder-width grip there.
What I would say is this: The last couple of reps were technically push presses. A strict press and a push press are probably best considered separate exercises, if you are actually concerned about progressing either one of them. You probably don’t get much out of “cheating” the last couple reps that way. What you really did there was 3x50 strict, and then 2x50 push press.
Don’t get me wrong, they are both terrific movements. Just consider keeping them separate.
I find single leg presses help keep my strength balanced. Plus, if the resistance is too little for a challenging two-leg press, you’ve just doubled the resistance!
