I do love SRV but not even he can make me stay on my “bicycle that don’t go nowhere” that long. The longest I have ever made it was 20 mins. My rabid squirrel brain just can’t do it.
Besides, it makes my left knee hurt for some reason so that’s my fall back cop-out.
Speaking of yardio, I have to go out and put a new carb on my weedeater. I have put “fancy gas" in it for all these years and it’s run great. Everybody kept giving me grief, because it’s so expensive. I mixed my own and Guess what? It will start and idle but won’t come up to full power. Won’t be that weak again. It wasn’t worth getting behind on what I need to get done.i have my yard and three others to do now.
SRV was one of the only guys would could play Jimi and really kill it. He also played it in his own way, which is really cool. IMO, he played Jimi better than Jimi played Jimi. I can understand the Airdyne predicament though. It would take someone holding a gun to my head to keep me on there for an extended amount of time.
Back before we had phones in our pockets, my cousin hunted me down in town to tell me. Her brother was dating a girl in his circle and had heard the news before it was released.
I’ve spent the last year learning to play three of his songs. Texas Flood, Pride and Joy and Rude Mood. After a year, I still can’t play them straight through like he did and I screw up all the time. Usually I just do the intro and then go from chorus to chorus as I’ve never really taken the time to learn what he plays during the verses. I’ve made up a few of my own choruses too. It is the most therapeutic thing on the planet after a long day of work. He was truly a musical treasure and was gone way too soon…. Soon, I’m thinking about trying to learn Little Wing or Voodoo Child. That should keep me busy for another year or two.
And I just put in a bunch of holds for The Hallmarked Man.
Have you ever tried spaghetti western (lol) novels? I just read one by William W. Johnstone from the Smoke Jensen series -easy, quick entertaining reading, no plot attention required; the dude has written a gazillion books it seems like.
My dad liked Johnstone. I looked at some but haven’t tried one yet.
I’m on a weird Jonathan Maberry kick right now. I’m 5 books deep into zombies, vampires, and aliens. Long, convoluted nonsense. Had to put that on hold to read Badlands. Let me know what you think of it
Edit: Injust checked on the Smoke Jensen sereis. My Libby has #1, #3, and #49. Pretty sure that’s not going to cut it
Last ortho appt was Friday, 85% healed! One more PT appt Wed. He seems to like the recumbent bike so I may have to find him one. So proud of him! He has handled the whole thing like a champ.
