It took little longer than expected but the ortho said he did great and surgery went well.
He’s still a little loopy from the anesthesia and pain meds.

Thank you everybody for being there for us and praying for him. :hugs:

That’s great news! Keep us posted as able, and sleep whenever you can!

Just catching up. Sending good vibes. The surgery is part one and re hab is the second part.
I had most of my hardware removed. Did tones of physio. I guess you kind of know about the smashed knee, exploded elbow, dislocated collarbone and a long list of other injuries.

Rehab suck but in the long run it is worth all the suck.

Thank you! His hardware is supposed to be permanent, I guess we’ll see. His first PT appt is in two weeks.

I am very angry. Just tired of being lied to and pushed by other people. May hang up the old punching bag tomorrow, turn on the do not disturb on my phone and pretend to beat somebody’s ass

Boxing is very therapeutic… Especially hitting the bag or sparring and landing a good combo. Also hello it’s been a while lol

Jed’s follow appt went great yesterday. She took the sutures out so no more having to worry about that. I told her I didn’t think the boot was fit properly and she agreed. She said there was no need to get another one because he wouldn’t need it much longer anyway. She told him he can walk without now. He is still scared though.
Today is his first PT and she said that’s good because they can “push him a little harder”. He is like a mule, the more you push, the more he pulls, so we will see how that goes.
He walked a little bit without it yesterday but put it back on last night. He says his leg doesn’t hurt, just his knee where they went in to put the rod.

It’s hard for me to understand because I would have taken the boot off and been done with it. We just have very different personalities.
I am just waiting for them to tell him he needs tennis shoes. He has NEVER successfully worn a pair in his life. He has extremely wide, thick feet and tennis shoes hurt. We’ll see.

Good news is… the PT place is close to the gym so I may be able to drop him off and sneak over for a little workout in the a/c after today.

My house does not have air conditioning. We generally do not need it. But where you are? Holy :poop:!

Central Texas. This has been a strange summer weather wise, it was 108 early on, then cooled down and flooded. Now we are now starting to hit the 100° mark but the humidity has been awful.
Some drier air moved in last night and it was actually a cool damp 59° this morning at my house before the sun come up, which is almost unheard of this time of year.

I always giggle when you talk about your sauna because all you have to do here is go outside.

What does he wear?

He wore Crocs for a loooong time and I finally got him to wear Frogg Toggs ( redneck Hey Dudes).
He prefers to be barefoot.

Good to hear the follow up went well. I have big feet and I like ON shoes. They are expensive, but they last a long time. I had my last pair from January first until July 21st. These are work shoes, I try to buy 2 pairs a year. So July first I start looking. I really could have pushed these out until August as my feet really didn’t hurt wearing my old pair, but they stopped passing the smell test so I moved on from them.

They have a wide toe box. And they don’t fall apart like Nikes.

Thanks for the recommendation!
Pretty sure we won’t need any shoes.

There was a lot of confusion about the appt annnnnddddd… I lost my shit. I tried so hard not to but…

A) I’m so glad he’s doing well, and B) I’m so sorry you had a come-undone. You know it’s okay, right? I mean, not for ME, I expect to be cool no matter what, but for other people.

Seriously, though…it happens.
