Rising From the Ashes (CL)

Not that you asked, and, again, I totally know how it feels to be super frustrated with a lift that seems perpetually stalled, but I think accumulating a lot of dips over the years has allowed me to progress on bench without benching a lot or very often.

Thanks! I tried band assisted dips several years ago until my left shoulder enough. Maybe I will take anothet crack at it.

Went out and did some band stuff. Tested bench… pathetic
Some walking lunges
Some push ups
Some band assisted dips

I’ve never done band-assisted dips and don’t have shoulder issues, but when I first tried to achieve an unassisted bodyweight dip, I did a lot of negatives. They worked. I don’t know if those would be any harder or easier on your shoulder though.

At one time I did make it to 5 unassisted so I will try to worknmy way back up to at least that.

I think I have just gotten lazy over the last couple of years.

I’m not very good at dips either. I’ve been doing these Bench Dips for awhile. They’re good to get the work into the triceps, and to practice driving with the arms and not the front of my shoulders. When I first started I was really unsymmetrical . My unstable side always wanted to float away. I’ve been doing almost like a reverse shrug in the top position to practice using my rib meat to keep my shoulders “Down” instead of shrugged up to my ears.

They’re also good for that tricep lump on the outside of your arm.

I did these when I first started. I will try to alternate these with band assist dips.
I just need to get it through my head that I am doing shit wrong. If it ain’t working, try something else.

So many fires burning in Texas right now. We are sitting in a tinder box. Heard sirens and my heart stopped. Found out it is an injured hiker rescue. Whew! Hope the person is okay, but happy it wasn’t another fire.

And it’s only March.

No kidding. We jumped straight from the freezer into the fire here. Already temps in the 90s.

Jeez. Good thing I got out of Texas. At least we have something of a spring here.

That is some truly beautiful art and designs. People who are artistic and creative amaze me. “I Bench 400#”, “ok, that’s nice”. “I made this piece of art” “Wow!” Now, just take the compliment. I’m not easily impressed and looking at these I was.
