We’ll come back around to this in say… 20 years. Then you’ll be like me and wish you were as “old” as you are now.:rofl::rofl:

My kids are already convinced I’m 54. As is my hairline

Since I can’t post any more pics in vegetable garden thread. I pulled some beets despite the tropical weather situation we ended up having today. Read… in the rain, mud and lightning, uphill both ways. Got them cooked, peeled, cut and almost ready to go in the canning jars.

I have noticed that you generally report some quite adverse weather. Is that normal for Texas?

(I had the, possible mistaken, idea that Texas was a sun-drenched place usually.)

P.S. I wanted to post “nice beets”. But I really have no idea if they are nice or if they are actually misshapen monsters, so I will refrain.

The saying is… if you don’t like the weather in Texas, wait 5 mins and it will change. We usually have long periods of drought followed by breif periods of flooding.

This year has been a strange one weather wise. It is unusual to have a tropical system form in the Gulf this early the year. They gave it 60% of being named. The weather forecasters never saw it coming.

We always need beneficial rain where I live, but the last few weeks have been drizzly and dreary. Just wet enough you can’t get it the garden or mow the lawn but not enough to do any good. I have weeds out there that are waist high, And let’s not forget breeds mold and millions of mosquitoes.

The beets were nice, only a couple of them didn’t make into the jars. I will dig the potatoes next weekend, hopefully before they rot in the ground.

The Texas death rays will be here soon.

Better avoid those

Seen where they’re saying Ana may hit before June. June’s usually the start of the hurricane season. Love beets. Hell, i pretty much love all fresh veggies.

Still getting the work in I see. Is it heating up over there yet?

Pretty nice today. 88°F/31c with a slight breeze. Glad to see it. It’s been drizzling rain for 3 weeks with very little sun. I was starting to get sad, and moldy.

You lucky thing, we are heading into winter down under, only 4 more days of Autumn to go. Winter is generally 15c (59f) and a good mix of wind, rain and sun. They say in Melbourne if you don’t like the weather just wait 5 mins. Sunny winter days are great down here but I like it warmer.

You work out alone right? When you only do the eccentric part of the bench what do you do with the bar on your chest?

I set tbe pins of the rack just above my chest. Crawl out from under it, and rerack the bar. I definitely knew when it got to the sticking point about 2 inches off my chest.
