Rising From the Ashes (CL)

For the win!

As of a few days ago, we’re out of the “cold snap” of -2/4 everyday and back to the traditional British drizzle, about 2-4 degrees

It’s a beautiful 8/4 and drizzly down in the better part of the country.

@simo74 can you sponsor people for immigration yet?

Felt okay but it’s early. It will take a bit for me to get the hang of it.

Video or it didn’t happen…

Oh no, we have already established that NO body wants to see my 50+ yo ass dancing to 1980s classic rock.

No. But 1970s classic rock on the other hand.

Nah, point taken.

Well… there maybe some of that on the playlist too

I am a citizen but don’t think you can sponsor individuals. You can get a sponsored visa through a business. Just need to apply for a job and the company agrees to sponsor you. That’s how I came here and it was a pretty straight forward process.

Shamelessly easy. Will slowly add reps and decrease sets. Which is a pretty big deal for me, when I started these last year I was falling over, having to start over etc Just look at me go now!

Tried out my new toy, it came a day early.
Hmmm… felt pretty trappy. Will definitely have to work on position/ foot placement.

you can also turn it the other way around and it will give you an entirely different feel … have fun! Can I see the falling over video? !!!

Alteady had plans on trying this tomorrow.

Sorry, no video on that but rest assured, it was ugly. Also not pleasant, we have grass burrs here.

Few knees and hands full those will make you straighten up real quick!

Well… we are just counting today as grip, full body and steady state cardio.

Made it the hardware store before they closed yesterday and got the pipe to rebuild my greenhouse, then met a friend for lunch at Rositas.
Stopped by the redneck mall to pick up some staples for the plastic. On my way to that section of the store I noticed they had gotten a large display of seeds and plants. I certainly couldn’t resist that temptation so I grabbed a couple seed packets, two packs of strawberries, four packs on onions, two bags of seed potatoes and my mom a golden raspberry bush, just because I loves her. Got home and worked on getting everything ready to install the new pipe.

Woke up bright and early to get this party started.
It was still a little too cold for the pvc cement to set so I decided I would plant the strawberries and work on the area of the garden to plant the onions.
I leave the hose connected all year round to put water innthe lily pad pond. Some dead grass had grown over part hose so I gave it tug and pulled part of it up so I wouldn’t catch it with the tiller. I gave it another tug and BAM! It come up alright, hydrant and all. First thought was that maybe it froze by the hose bib but oh no… it broke off down in the ground. Now, I have a beautiful gyser in my garden. I ran, yeah you read that right, I actually ran to go shut the pump off at mom’s meter loop. This is always scary because I think there is a slim chance of being electrocuted because fuse box is from 1940 something. Whew! Got the pump turned off without incident. Turned off the water heaters.

Walk back down the the garden got the shovel and started digging. First rattle out of the bucket hit my arm and peeled off a nice nickel sized chunk of skin. Duct tape band aid and good to go A quick trip back to the redneck mall for parts, which they didn’t have, grab sime lunch at the China Wok, ya know because we have no water, a trip to the grocery store that actually had a 1 jnch to 3/4 inch reducer elbow, go figure. Still can’t find a small piece of one inch pipe.
Back home, ate my cashew chicken and back on the job. Glued everything together except the last fitting. The SOB will NOT go together, why? Because it isn’t in the same place it was because I can’t find the one inch pipe. Ended up capping off the pipe to my house and got mom’s end all functioning. Replaced three leaky hydrants while I had the pump turned off, so today wasn’t a total loss. Drained the pressure tank and shot some air in it. Turned pump back on, Thank God it worked! Then the faucet at the pump house that I used to drain the system is leaking now. :face_with_raised_eyebrow: got that down to a drip and At this point I just said tomorrow is another day.

Does anybody know how to get pvc cement and plumers putty off your hands? Asking for a friend.
