pretty good night. hit a weight PR.
reverse grip bench to 4 board
135x6
225x4
315x4
405x2
495x1
565x1 + 20lb PR
full ROM- reverse grip
315x15
dumbell floor press- neutral grip, each rep paused
100’s x 20 x 2
incline flyes- paused at full stretch
50’s x 20 x 2
cable wrist curls
some x 20 x 3
standing calf raises
some x 20 x 3
kept the accessory work light for higher reps tonight. good change of pace.

Lol, they “only” picked your incline bench? I thought some of your front squats could definitely give those o-lifters a run for their money…[/quote]
those guys are freaks of nature. they don’t weigh anything and are so damn fast.
Back when you posted your hill sprints I’d told you I was going to have to show you how I did them. Why kill yourself sprinting up and down a hill, when you could also be carrying a big rock?
Well, if the video doesn’t show up, I have no problem shamelessly plugging my new log on your thread:
Edit: hah! the video showed up when I posted this.
Dude, edit your videos, I watched the deadlift one and your standing around for almost a whole minute before you start to lift the weight.

There is a little lever at the bottom where you can advance the video forward. Taking and posting vids is time consuming enough without editing them.
Hey maraudermeat just wanted to say thanks for the tips on the reverse grip its perfect now!

dude… you need to edit your video. i had to sit here and watch you resting at the bottom of the hill… i don’t have time for that. i’m a busy guy.
awesome job hoss. you had better be careful though that some damn groundhog doesn’t drag you down into its hole. that tall grass is a bit creepy.
the cows seemed to be entertained as well.

I edited out the rest at the top, you didn’t have to listen to be wheezing at least.
The cows should have the grass down to a reasonable height soon. But cow pies are a bigger problem than groundhogs.
Cows pretty much have only 2 reactions:
- Stair at something as if it is the most amazing thing ever that can never be understood
- run away in a panic
Them looking interested was a 50/50 chance. Plus, they tend to keep an eye on Roscoe as he may resemble a wolf or coyote.

I do the same training on the hill in my backyard. Gets tough to breath with a heavy stone resting on your stomach.

haven’t really checked in for awhile. i’ve basically been coasting for a couple weeks to allow myself to rest up. I’ve been putting down hardwood floors througout my house and used my time off from the gym to do them.
i officially jumped on the 5/3/1 wagon today. i’m going to follow it all the way up to a meet i’m doing at the end of october. i’m not going to max out at all. i’ll just use the rep calculator to guessdimate my openers.
per Wendler’s suggestions, i was very conservative with my starting maxes.
below are my starting maxes
strict military press-300
reverse grip bench press-450
squat-600
deadlift-600
as we all know, starting maxes are actually 90% of the above numbers, so below are my program starting maxes
strict military press- 270
reverse grip bench-405
squat-540
deadlift-540
i’m going to train three days per week. as a result, the cycle will run for four weeks with the fifth week being a deload.
tonight was my first training session-
standing military press-
warmups-
0x10
95x3
135x3
working sets- all reps done paused at bottom and top
65%-175x5
75%-200x5
85%-230x6 +1 rep over required 5. left a couple reps in tank.
accessory work
standing military press
50%-135x10x5
Dips- BW only- total of 50 reps
dumbell row
100 x 25
shrugs
225x15
calves and forearms
some x some
