i really hope you do.
how are liking the reverse grip work??
do you have any bands??
No bands [yet], LOVING RGBP. Finding my groove really well, first time I did them like 3 weeks back I hit 225x7, for reference.
But they’re serving as a fucking excellent way to hammer triceps heavy without bugging my forearm. Hell, just taking out a generator today my forearms were raped a little, but was STILL able to do RGBP heavy without any issues. This is actually very significant for me.

bench night- really like the band benching last week so i kept them in this week.
bench against bands
0x10
135x6
185x2
225x2
275x1
315x1
365x1
405x1
445x1 +20lb PR
455x1 +30lb PR
bench against bands- long pause (actually totally relaxed and let bar sink in all the way), and feet up
405x1
drop set- bench against bands
315x10-225x7-135x8
that’s it… that drop set really tore me up. [/quote]
I might have missed it earlier, but approximately how much resistance is from the bands?

if i had to guess i would say about 70-80lbs at the top and 40-50lbs at the bottom. so the actual weight moved was 500lbs at chest and 520lbs or so at the top. what makes it really hard is if you don’t have good pop off the chest, the band tension catches up and you feel like you hit a wall. that’s what happened on my 455 set. i didn’t have good pop off the chest and then it came to a quick stop. luckily i was able to muscle through it.
highlights from bench night last night
reverse band bench -medium bands-paused- 565x1
seated dumbell press- 130’s x 7- haven’t done these in awhile
Fuckin beast. Made those 130’s look like a feather.
This thread kicks so much ass it isn’t even funny.
thanks guys. i haven’t done any overhead pressing in a long time but this is a good start. i had some major imbalances with my shoulders. i had a lot of strength in my anterior delts but i was lacking in my medial and rear delts. I’ve been really hammering them for a few months, so now it’s time to get back to putting weight over my head again.
thanks again guys. it’s nice to know people are reading it.

i really appreciate you saying that.
Great stuff. I hope to be like this some day
I lurk mostly, but i have started to do power pushdowns again after watching one of your videos. Keep at it MM.
I also agree with hungry, i love watching videos of people who are stronger than me because it makes me go harder the next time i train.

i’m sorry…what did you say?? your avatar is giving me a special feeling.
highlight from yesterday’s dead session- i stumbled upon a foot position that made the weight off the floor feel like nothing and my hips came through very fast. i stumbled upon it on my second set of deficit speed pulls against bands. i got a video of it so i don’t forget. Dave compared it to a sissor lift. i called it the t- rex deadlift.
anyway…here’s the vid. if anyone pulls sumo, give it a try and let me know if it works for you.

T-REX, I like it… Do you think that maybe the foot position make you keep your knees out and your hips more forward from the start? Do you feel like your sitting back more in the hole at the start as opposed to ‘hunching’ over the bar? I’ve noticed that if I pull sumo and point my toes as far towards the plates it tends to bring my hips in further from the start and I can pop off the floor with my quads. Anyways…good stuff meat.
