I am a 20 year old male, and i weigh about 155 pounds. Anyway, I have been working out for 5 months or so now and have been seeing okay/good progress i guess.
Anyway, I know I haven’t been eating enough. Like, for real I have prob been eating 1500 calories a day which I know is grossly under what I need.
Anyway, today I noticed that my ribs are actually starting to show on the sides of my body.
I would imagine I need to start eating more, NOW. But, should I also stop working out till I gain some more weight?
just look up what a good diet for what your goal is.
tailor that diet to your budget and to whatever is readily available, drop what isn’t reasonable.
make a batch food put it in containers.
vigilantly follow that diet as if you were an anorexic girl.
then lift heavy, lift often, lift heavy, lift often. run do other shit.

Why were you eating so far under maintenance in the first place? It’s none of my business, really, if you don’t care to answer, but I thought I’d ask.
You should be eating 3-4000kcal a day, and selecting workouts that will cause you to put the muscle back on with as little time spent in the gym as possible, thus minimizing caloric expenditure.

The good news is that if you did lose any muscle, you’ll gain it back pretty rapidly, plus you should get some good newbie gains from either of those programs. Just make sure to eat enough.
No you should NOT stop working out. If you stop working out that just means more of your food gets stored away since you’ve been effectively starving yourself for a few months. Keep working hard. Eat more. And eat more protein. Problem solved.

Rofle, since i knew i couldnt eat enough to gain weight healthily, i started eating 2 double cheeseburgers on my ‘off’ days. For recess, thats 1100cal on the spot, if you include the boxdrink i have with it. Eat healthy, but if u cant, dont. Just make sure you are eating both healthy and shit, that way you can burn the shit, and then use the healthy. I mean, 50g prot, 60g carbs and 90g fat could kill me if i didnt work out, but i think even the bad quality nature of the cals will be benificial to me just because of the lifestyle i live.
So now I’m gonna go eat some noodles and peanut butter. I understand you are meant to separate your carbs and fats, but fuck it, my 230lb BB mate is doing fine without adhering to that, and I’m an ecto so I’l only adhere when I want to cut (which could be in a couple of years lol)
