Awww. Poor guy. Just begging the government for good direction. Lemme guess, carryover from a military career? Or carry over from the penitentiary?
Fauci.
Of course the Italian is scummier than the crackers.
What do you have against his proposals?
Heās going after the puppets, not the puppeteers.
We can only hope.
What are Vanceās proposals? If RFK can implement what he says and actually fight for it, then this will be historical. Has he talked about holding people accountable-as in prison time?
So⦠healthcare wise, the sticky wicket seems to be FDA + Big Pharma vs. availability of compounded substitutes and alternative medicines. Ozempic/Semaglutide is the best example of this. The FDA was gearing up to provide much broader approval of usage (for insurance cover)āof ozempic (meaning more conditions are covered by insurance). This would be combined with cracking down on compounding pharmacies to protect the IP when the āproduction shortagesā are resolved.
The effect of this (in ozempicās case) would be hoardes of people taking ozempic (and torpedoing their metabolism through muscle atrophy), and general practitioners (versus speciality care) bringing it into their practices. It also means insurance can be billed billions and billions of dollars more bringing everyone along on the gravy train and raising premiums.
Healthcare is an exceptionally complex market in the US, but the example above is a good one of how close insurance, FDA. & pharma manufacturers operate in lock step.
My pipe dream is that telemed gets massively reduced, selfishly because it would be good for my clinic. Taking a broader view though, telehealth significantly hurts the presence of local medical care specialists, and reduces care to a lowest common denominator where price and minimal check ins/lab work/patient consistency is the norm. Plenty of people will pay for the convenience and premium of in-person clinics, but the massive expansion of telehealth over the last several years has definitely been to the detriment of small, regional businesses
Any reason you canāt have a clinic AND do telemed where you are at?
RFKj has some good ideas and his overall goal of reducing chronic disease is a great one. Hereās Trumpās statement about RFKjās appointment from last week:
āFor too long, Americans have been crushed by the industrial food complex and drug companies who have engaged in deception, misinformation, and disinformation when it comes to public health,ā Trump wrote. āMr. Kennedy will restore these agencies to the traditions of gold standard scientific research, and beacons of transparency, to end the chronic disease epidemic, and to make America great and healthy again!ā
That sounds great and I hope we start heading in the right direction. But, I think RFKjās tenure will be short lived. Recently he was critical of Trumpās diet:
āThe stuff that he eats is really, like, bad,ā he stated, describing certain items on the former presidentās menu as āpoisonā in some cases."
The next thing we see is him being brought to heel, photographed eating McDonaldās on an airplane with Trump. His agenda is going to put him squarely at odds with major companies in the food and chemicals industry and I donāt think heāll come out on top of those conflicts.
And it should have never gotten to this point. But when you live in a country whose economic train of thought is make another buck just about any way you can, w/o regards to consequences, what more can you expect?
My complaint with all the Food Pyramid, My Pyramid, and My Plate that the USDA endorses is that eating in the quantities that Americans typically eat will always be a danger to the health of most Americans.
If USDA were interested in the health of Americans they would warn the public to avoid all processed foods. Not outlaw them, but a nice little āEat at Your Own Riskā label would be work. Treat them as they did tobacco labelling.
A moderate bodybuilderās diet that USDA could call The Plate would be a plate that was 1/3 protein, 1/3 fibrous carbohydrates (non starch vegetables) and 1/3 starchy vegetables and fruit. Everyone should add good fats to their diet.
I do believe that RFK is a person who could help guide the FDA in a much better direction.
I am firmly in the belief that 90% of the public is nutritionally ignorant. If they want to eat themselves to type 2 diabetes and worse, pig out.
Thatās all it does. Is the party that wants less regulation going to back regulating fast food, soda and corn syrup? Because that is the only way to keep fat ass Americans, who are the majority of Americans, from eating shit.
If it makes you feel better, Americans donāt follow those guidelines anyway. They just eat whatever they want and lots of it.
I donāt care what others eat, one way or the other. In fact, I enjoy watching fat people eat to get fatter.
But why not endorse a healthy model.
Why endorse anything? Itās 2024, if you need the government to tell you how to eat, you have bigger problems than being a fat ass. And again, itās not like theyāll listen anyway.
This will be interesting. Thoughts instead of science leading the way? Iām surprised homeopathy wasnāt named in the list of human health advancements. Even more disappointed that anabolic steroids never made it on this list (as it actually works). As much as I hate to admit it though - He has a point!
Do you think they will just drop their My Plate?
At least they could quit contaminating our youthās mind with misguided garbage.
I donāt think theyāll drop anything that will cost them money and power.
