This can wreak havoc on you. My second hip problem was 100% tissue related. The most productive thing at physical therapy was the tissue work. I still get flare ups but if I jump on the foam roller then I can hold it off.
Also, sometimes the body can be stupid and hold on to pain.
Holding on to pian can be a big problem. Something hurts, you start limping around and now some little muscle is getting twerked. It gets tight and painful, then you’re limping more, and on and on.
My bad guys - did not get a notification for some reason.
@j4gga2 - we are looking into second opinions. Not sure if/when we’ll get one, but after looking up the current doc online and finding some pretty bad reviews, I think we’re convinced that it would do no harm.
That’s interesting. I didn’t know that.
Pain until January of '20 or '21? Just curious. I know my mom will sometimes massage his foot and ankle, so yeah, that must be helping him some. Haven’t actually asked. He wore a boot for a few days after the incident when they said it was an ankle issue but hasn’t since. His ankle/foot was wrapped up in some type of brace for a while after the surgery, but currently he has nothing on.
Anyway, like I said, was not expecting treatment plans from anyone, just wanted to see if anyone had any advice. Thank you guys for responding, hopefully this is something that will improve!
My ankle pain lingered until January '20. Like 5 months, so I was thinking it’s not crazy that your dad’s more serious injury would persist way longer.
I can’t make any diagnosis, but I would put that wrap back on for some support.
UPDATE: Mental health is not at its best but life is going well so that helps not add to what’s in my own head. Training tends to become less consistent when I get into this headspace but I’m working on it. Working an okay job this summer, and really enjoying the baby. Dude’s 6 months old. It’s nuts. He’s great.
I’m fairly active in other logs and threads, just felt like I should come back to this one, haha.
