Pantera is superior lifting music. Adds 10# (or kilos, wtf ever) to your lifts easy.[/quote]

I’ll take it in kilos please

Like the new name for your thread!

Thank you!!

I needed a change. Squatting 225 happened a long as time ago and there have been many changes to my goals since then. It was suggested I keep the title and aim for a 225 bench, but that’s not at the top of my goals at the moment.

Sigh. I know I bash Ddot a lot, but man, sometimes that guy is just a complete life saver! Today was one of the FML days. Those of you on facebook I’m sure have seen my updated statuses throughout the day talking about it.

It all started on a somewhat crisp morning. A light drizzle was in the air. Okay, enough. It was lightly raining, I was driving to my client site that I hate. I was in a bad mood that I had to go see these morons and was tired. So tired that today I just threw my hair in a ponytail AND am wearing my glasses. For me, that is the epitome of lazyness. Anyways… so there I am driving along, get onto the express toll road… all of a sudden my car feels funny and is making some weird noises. Turn off the music, pull over to the side of the road. Flat tire. Note: It’s still lightly raining.

Well my baby brother usually is following about 10 minutes behind me, same route. I call him, tell him what happens, he swears at me, says he’s just going to drive by and wave. Instead, the kid pulls over, and changes my tire. I drive slowly, get off at the next exit, go to the nearest Crappy Tire (Canadian reference) and get it patched, pumped and I’m back on my way. It was quick thankfully.

We’ll skip the work bs, cuz, well, most people have it. We’ll move to 10am. I go and grab coffee with two of my coworkers and get back to my computer. I go to take my first sip. I lift up the cup and pull it towards me but clearly don’t lift it high enough. It nudges my blackberry ever so slightly and because it was so full, it spills a bit on it. I quickly clean up the mess on my phone, take out the battery, sim card, etc and furiously attempt to dry it. I let it sit there for a few hours, put the batter back in, it turns on (yay!)… however the caffeine was too much for my dear sweet pink blackberry… when I press one button, I get several different letters. It’s like my blackberry is on crack. For example, pressing the letters “L” “K” or “M” gets me the combination “yi”. I can’t get those letters to work. Now it may not be such a big deal except my phone has a password on it when you turn it on and several of the letters in it are acting cracked out like this.

Now many of you may just tell me to get over it. However, this means I have no contact or way to contact anyone, including work people. I have ZERO phone numbers, no access to work email (except via VPN at the client) and my boss can’t reach me. Not only that, but it’s Friday and nothing happens over the weekend to get this fixed. I managed to sweettalk my way into a replacement but that won’t arrive until mid next week.

Fortunately, however, out of the goodness of his heart, Ddot has come to my rescue. I’m meeting him at the gym tonight and he has an old phone I can use that will allow me to regain all my contacts as soon as I put my sim card in.

So now, it’s 3:30pm and I’m thinking of leaving here around 4 just to end my day. My plans tonight involve NEPA: cleaning my room, doing laundry, getting Ddot’s phone and watching my brother play lacrosse (if I don’t fall asleep before 8). I kind of wish I was heading to St. Cath’s to squat tonight, however I don’t think my head would be in it. I’ll save it for tomorrow when I can pull my head out of my ass and have a great last session.

LMFAO.

Phew - I’m glad you got access to my number again, otherwise we wouldn’t be able to continue our enthralling Pokemon vs Digimon discussion.

Hot fucking avatar. Email me the original! I want to see! She told me you were peaking this week!!

Girly you are just in time for June gloom. It will help you ease into the sunny summer =)

My blackberry lives!!! Last night when I went to bed, it was working with the exception of the top row of keys. They were all giving me the combination “ou”. This morning I turned her on and voila! Magic! My i and o are still a little cranky, but they’re working. It seriously made my morning. I then trekked it down to Niagara for my last session until my meet next Saturday.

I did my warm ups how I plan to do them the day of.

Squat
45x10
135x4
185x2 - belt
205x1 - belt
245x2 (high, good) - Suit on straps down
275x1 (good, VERY fast) - Suit on straps up, knees wrapped myself
300x1 (good, VERY fast) - Suit on straps up, knees wrapped

Both the 275 and 300 flew up. I’m opening at 297lbs so instead of 295, we put the “doilies” (aka 2.5lbs plates) on and made it 300. One of the women from another club (KS - Ouro, the one with nice hair) was down again and she looked at me in shock after how fast they both went up. As it should…it’s my light ass opener!

Bench - had planned on raw boards… nope.
75x5
95x3
115x1

  • after the 115 felt super light, I decided to shirt with the rest of the crew. Three of the junior guys are doing the push/pull so one of them was there in his shirt, as was the junior guy doing the 3lift. I wanted to belong
    Shirt on
135x3 - none of them touched, just seating the shirt
160x2 - both were pretty gross
170x0 - didn’t set up on the bench well enough, brought the bar down slowly, hit very low
170x1 - literally within about a minute of my failed attempt, I re-set up and pushed it with ease.

REMEMBER: BRING THE BAR TO YOUR CHEST WITH SPEED!!!

The guys had some laughs because the other woman was adjusting my boobs…bigtime. They were drooling when she was standing above me while I sat on the bench and had her hands right down my shirt jacking them up. As she leaned into me to pull them up, the back of my head went into her (fake) boobs. I’m pretty sure they will all have vivid fantasies about it later. She then “taught” one of the juniors lifting in the push/pull how to adjust my boobs so he can do it the day of. He actually did it better than she did! At first I think he was a little awkward about having to do it but when I told him I was serious and he was doing it, he stepped up to the challenge. Good boy

Now it’s time to rest. Eat, sleep, foam roll, recover, repeat.

Damn, I should have went down today instead of yesterday! :frowning:

Glad your last session went well.

The shirt is so tight that when they put it on you, your boobs get all weirdly squished and out of place and are uncomfortable. Plus, the boobs is generally where woman ‘touch’ when they bench…so you want them as big and high as possible. If your boobs aren’t pulled up to where they should be, it’s difficult for the shirt to seat properly and for it to feel like it’s seated properly.

At least this is my experience. There could very well be a ‘real’ reason they do it.

interesting.

in target shooting you aren’t supposed to use an artificial support so I do know women who will push their boob into their armpit to support their arm.

kinda but not really the same

I"m gonna get me one of those. It’s also good because the garters keep your deadlift socks up.

hahaha!

Court, I’m sure there are many other reasons for women, but when I bench in a shirt I get someone to reach in the shirt and pull my pecs up as high as they can. I learned that trick from Ken Millrany…600+ single ply bencher at 40+ yo and 242 in a single ply. Adds about 20# to your max at least for me.

I know there must be a reason for it since everyone does it…I’m just not sure exactly what it is  But I DO know that if my boobs are trying to touch my belly button in my shirt I raise hell until someone fixes them!

Today’s highlights include:

  1. Telling my ART guy that I “fucking hate” him as he was asking me questions while digging his finger into my pecs.
  2. Getting felt up by my ART guy. It wasn’t all that great considering how much he hurt me, but I got action nonetheless.
  3. My neck is messed up. We’re not talking about it, but we are fixing it.
  4. The best way to get out of a speeding ticket is to smile, be polite and most of all, look pretty.
  5. Getting asked by a coworker what is wrong with me because I “seem really chipper and happy today”.
  6. Buying new deadlift socks because when I started packing my bag today (I made my packing list yesterday) I realized I had no idea where my socks were. They look like the photo above except there’s a third stripe.
  7. Getting ready for bad and looking forward to being asleep before 10:30pm

EDIT: Of course as soon as I change the name of my log my number of replies becomes too many and I need to start a new log. I’ll do it tomorrow I guess…
