You remind me of Sarah Chalke from Scrubs in that picture.

Thanks guys  It had to be a non-PL picture so I could start the process of removing my head from my ass. Vader, I assume that’s a compliment? I don’t watch Scrubs…

As an aside, it’s amazing what can put you in a better mood. I just went and had coffee (green tea for me) with NeelyDan who is avoiding these parts until after he is wed. We had some good laughs, shot the shit and it lifted my spirits. [/quote]

I also really like the new pic. Nice to put a face to a name. Funny how you picture someone in your head from their online “voice.”

Want to say good luck, and that I read your thread pretty consistently. YOu and several other women here are inpsirations to me as I take babysteps into this sport.

Horns and a pointy black goatee?

Wait, that’s not your ‘squat dress’?

Many people think I’m an old bitter lady. Right Vader? And then they “see” me and realize I’m just a young bitch

Oh and Ms. Sbmart… speaking of bitches, you are one my dear

Nah…it used to be, but since I moved to a slightly wider stance, it’s too tight around my legs/knees for me to spread the floor how I want to. Now it’s reserved for weddings and special occassions.

I ended up having a semi-unplanned session tonight down in Niagara. It was just me and two of the guys and actually our chemistry allowed us to work really well together. One of the guys is one of two that I prefer to dress me and run my numbers when I’m in my bench shirt. He asked if I had it with me, I did.

He suggested we do it tonight instead of Saturday because he wasn’t going to be there Saturday and regardless, it was likely to be busier then. Tonight we could take the time we needed and just do it.

I’d had a shitty day (see my rant above) and my head was about 3/4 removed from my ass by this point. Once we decided I was going to be shirted, AND I got my squat/dl suit back (the straps were being re-shortened) so I decided I’d be deadlifting heavier than planned, my head was removed the last 1/4 of the way. Here it is:

Bike Warm up
Mobility

Bench:
45x10x1
75x5x1
95x5x1
105x3x1
135x0 They thought it would be fun to try this. I got it about 3 inches off my chest.
Shirt:
175x3x3 (only about half were clean, I was being severly choked on the entire first set until the shirt got seated properly)
190x2x1 (the first was ugly and had some help, the second rocked) PR!

Back out of shirt:
95x5x1 to 2 board
115x5x1 to 2 board
I was spent… will do heavy boards on Saturday to work on my lockout.

I have 2 more sessions in my shirt and right now it looks like my opener will be 175. Frank thinks I only have 200 in me right now (although he said if I had 4 sessions in my shirt I’d hit 205) so I’ll likely go 185, 200 or something like that. We’ll see what Hoi says when he sees me in my shirt next because he’ll be running my numbers and Frank won’t be around.

Deadlift:
135x5x1 → did a few more reps playing with setup. I’m now setting up wider. I like it.
185x5x1
225x1x1
Suit on straps up, belt:
315x1x5

All of these singles flew up. The last was even nicer than the first apparently. We’ve decided I’ll open around 305, then jump around 335, then around 360.

Flat Bench DB Press
30x8x1
40x7x2
I hadn’t done these in a while and I was pleasantly surprised by my strength. Technically each of them were 7.5 reps at 40 hahaha.

Dips
BWx2,3,1 (Of course the two guys were each rocking out 10-12 reps with BW + 90lbs. Fuckers.

Standing Calf Raise with feet in a ‘V’ shape, heels touching (don’t ask, it was N’s idea)
260x10x1
300x10x1
315x13x1
I went last out of the three of us for each of these 3 exercises. Once they saw I was keeping up on this one, they tried to outdo me. On the 315, the N got 11, F got 12 and, well, I rocked it out and got 13. I won

It was a really long session, but it didn’t feel like it. At the end we all just sort of sat there and chatted for a while cuz we were all gassed. Got some food, watched the poor Bruins lose and now it’s time for bed.

I had a long chat with Frank afterwards about my whole weight issue and he was of the same opinion of “fuck it, who cares”. He says I have the opportunity right now to put up some big numbers, why bother dropping it, struggling, stressing and having looser equipment. Why not go into it eating well, sleeping well and beating the chicks in my weight class on wilks if necessary. Hoi basically said the same thing. I’m going to refeed this weekend as suggested by Todd and see where I am Tuesday morning.

I’m going to give myself a few more carbs so I have energy to lift, but am going to stay with clean eating. We’ll figure it out in 2 weeks what I’m going to do…

Edit: Updated part of my bench session…forgot about the 135…

How do you push 40s for 7 but put up 190?! Your shirt must be covered in magic fairy dust…

It is.

My raw max is somewhere above 120 and below 135. Last time I tested was in Jan and it was 120 and I got pinned under 125. Last night I moved 135 a few inches off my chest.

I’m really weak off my chest and the shirt gives me that pop to get through my weak spot. If I can work on my lockouts, I can push 200 in my shirt. I just need to keep the magic fairy dust handy

Frank said you guys all had fun last night. He said I should have been there to make a foursome. I think N is too young for me but I’d take it for the team. I’m sweet like that.

Amazing numbers chiquita. I can hardly wait to see how you do in Belle River. I’ll be there for the whole thing without kids.

I think their advice on weight is solid. Go with it and rock it. If you were going to qualify for something I may worry but you’re going to kick ass. So do it.

neelydan needs something to fill the massive hole in his heart left behind by a bruins team gone south way too early.

I figured that’s what it was. Regardless, I’m glad to see your anteater ass back here.

Court, good session and nice DL numbers. I hadn’t noticed your DL lately due to your bench and squat. That’s rounding out to be a very nice total.

Also some food for thought (bad pun intended). After this I’m staying out of your weight class decision, but I thought that I’d just mention that at the moment you are already qualified for the Provincials in both classes since you competed at 67.5 but your total was above the total required for 75kgs.

No, I knew that. My Niagara meet qualified me for both…

Yeah, it was a good time. Much more mellow than with the big crowd there, but still extremely supportive and we pushed each other. Don’t worry about N, I’ll take him off your hands hahaha.

I’m looking forward to Belle River. You know how I get, so I likely won’t talk to you til I’m done, but thanks for coming  I assume you plan on driving down in the morning? Are you staying for the post-party? I need to figure out where people are staying and find me a roomie lol.

Holy crap we have the same bench numbers raw but I never thought of touching anything close to 190. I had no idea shirts help that much. That’s 70lbs! Is that normal?

No idea if it’s normal. My max is likely closer to 125/130 raw but I haven’t pushed it there in 4 months.

For me, it’s a mixture of the shirt and the environment I train in. If I didn’t completely trust the guys I lift with, my confidence wouldn’t be there to try it. They don’t set me up for failure and so all I have to do is go and do what I know how to do and not even worry about what’s on the bar. I didn’t even notice them sneak 2.5s on yesterday to change it from 185 to 190.
