As I was driving in, I was thinking more about what chiro said. It makes me angry. This is talk coming from someone who won’t compete because he won’t be one of the best. In my opinion, that is the talk of losers. The people who never get out there and try because they won’t get a medal are the ones that never win. Making a weight class decisions based on the fact that someone like Rhea Fowler is in it, is retarded. Why not pick one of the top lifters in the WORLD and make a decision based on that.
It’s funny but I more often hear talk like that from men than women. I wonder why that is.
I completely agree with both you and Diana. Frankly, for me, it’s better for me to lift in a weight class I ‘fit’ in than to have to drop 5-6lbs before every meet. I don’t care WHO is in my weight class because I lift for ME.
On a more positive note from him, he asked why I wasn’t planning on flying back to compete in Provincials because at least that way I had the option of doing nationals. It at least got me thinking… I’ll have only been down there for about a month and it’s hella pricey just for a weekend meet, but I figure I’m more likely to stay in comp shape and actually make it to the gym to PL and not just ‘lift’ if I have something to train for. It’ll at least be in the back of my mind for the next two months when I’ll make a decision.[/quote]
I think that’s something worth considering. Plus you could visit your family and keep your options here open.
I was going to add one more thing. The chances of Rhea Fowler showing up at Belle River or the Ottawa open are likely kind of slim.
Jesus, I feel like driving over to his office and flicking him in the back of the head.
