As I was driving in, I was thinking more about what chiro said. It makes me angry. This is talk coming from someone who won’t compete because he won’t be one of the best. In my opinion, that is the talk of losers. The people who never get out there and try because they won’t get a medal are the ones that never win. Making a weight class decisions based on the fact that someone like Rhea Fowler is in it, is retarded. Why not pick one of the top lifters in the WORLD and make a decision based on that.

It’s funny but I more often hear talk like that from men than women. I wonder why that is.

I completely agree with both you and Diana. Frankly, for me, it’s better for me to lift in a weight class I ‘fit’ in than to have to drop 5-6lbs before every meet. I don’t care WHO is in my weight class because I lift for ME.

On a more positive note from him, he asked why I wasn’t planning on flying back to compete in Provincials because at least that way I had the option of doing nationals. It at least got me thinking… I’ll have only been down there for about a month and it’s hella pricey just for a weekend meet, but I figure I’m more likely to stay in comp shape and actually make it to the gym to PL and not just ‘lift’ if I have something to train for. It’ll at least be in the back of my mind for the next two months when I’ll make a decision.
I think that’s something worth considering. Plus you could visit your family and keep your options here open.

I was going to add one more thing. The chances of Rhea Fowler showing up at Belle River or the Ottawa open are likely kind of slim.

Jesus, I feel like driving over to his office and flicking him in the back of the head.

I agree with Diana and Ouro. Lift in the class that lets you focus on improving your lifts. Later on you can strategically pick a weight class if it means going for an international qualifier or something.

Just so I don’t sound like a hypocrite saying this as I’m in the process of dropping a weight class. The only reason I’m doing it now is because I have basically zero chance of qualifying for higher level competition unless I moved down and I think the level on competition is more important than the meet result.

You don’t sound like a hypocrite at all. You’re still lifting raw and in general the standards for males to move to higher level competition is more difficult than for a female. Get you into some gear and maybe you’ll only spend a meet or two at 75kg.

How is the weight drop coming by the way? Have you bought your lemons yet? Still peeing every 2.45seconds?

So I went to ART/Chiro tonight and both my shoulder and back are in good shape. He gets in these moods though where he has to tell you about how awesome everyone else is. He told me moving up to 75kg might not be the best idea for me because even though I’m strong, I’m moving into the most competitive weight class in Canada. Then he proceeded to talk about Rhea Fowler. Rhea is a fucking machine. Anyways, I was already in a pissy mood and having him tell me I’d “never be competitive at 75” ticked me off.
Is this coming from the same girl who told me Tuesday that it’s not about winning? LOL!

But seriously, do yourself a favour and record that sentence for your iPod.

“You’ll never be competitive at 75 kilos!”

Bullshit. I’ve been around gyms (on and off) for over 13 years now. I’ve never seen someone make the gains you have, at least not without assistance. You’ve got a drive and a will to succeed that puts you above and beyond most others. I think the real answer to the Chiro guy should have been, ‘Well Rhea Fowler hasn’t met Court yet!’.

Sure you don’t have her numbers yet, but you make steady progress all the time.

Last night O’s nameless boyfriend tells me you benched 135. I get this big ass smile on my face when I hear that because your sorry ass couldn’t do 10 push ups less than 2 years ago. Your strength curve has been through the roof!

Look at where you are now; Just as you get into gear and learn how to use it properly. Big numbers for a relative newbie at the sport. Learn the gear, keep getting stronger and who knows where you can get. I don’t think anyone here but you knows how much you can push yourself.

This log started as Court’s Quest to 225 - regarding your squat. I say it’s now Court’s Quest to 225 - Bench.

“You’ll never be competitive at 75 kilos!”

Why don’t you just quit?

Awwwww Toddles… you’re gonna make me tear up. Okay, not quite, but still :stuck_out_tongue: It isn’t about winning per se. It’s just the most retarded statement I’ve ever heard someone say. Like purposefully putting someone down and telling them they’re not good enough. If I wasn’t so confident in his ability to fix my body, I’d have said eff it.

Scottie swears I’m on test and dbol…mainly because he’s jealous of my gains haha. I mean, I’m still in loose gear, have only been in ANY gear for like 2 weeks.

You must have been in just after I left. I saw O’s bf as well and was spotting his squats. I was telling him about my weekend cuz I had to tell him about my intervention at work so we got to talking about my numbers. It’s funny that he was then telling you about them hahaha. Will you quit mentioning my lack of pushup ability? I was only doing 5 real and 5 girl after the first 5 weeks of training… so likely mid-late Feb last year. Hahahahahahaha

And for the record, I still have that on my ipod. “Why don’t you just quit? Girls are supposed to quit” and I still give you the finger when it happens to come on lol.

Birth control pills are the devil.

Maybe you should just stop having sex.

That’s what I’ve done except for period hand romance … which doesn’t count.

Yeah, well I own the fucking bus.
Hate those damn pills too, I haven’t used them for years. What about those shots you can get every few months, somethings gotta work for you.
Jules, drive over to that idiot’s office and flick the back of his head. He pissed me of since MJ.

The first time I read it was as “lick the back of his head”. Ewww. I’ll lick lot’s of stuff but not the back of a head.

Good training, not only are the numbers you put up great, but the picture on the front page compared to now…the transformation is crazy!

Thanks Free2Be

I usually just hit the last post so don’t see the picture, but I had to look at it after reading your comment… yep, that doesn’t look like me at all anymore.

However my little brother (20) told me yesterday my arms looked fat in my facebook profile picture. This was immediately after I told him I squatted 335 though, so I think he was just jealous

It doesn’t really count when the reason you’re not having sex is because women don’t want to sleep with you while you’re wearing that mask. I can understand how that might hurt your feeligns and make you angry.

It has nothing to do with the mask, really. His naughty bits got burned off.

I’d be angry too.

Like burned off with a light sabre?

For the record Vader, I apologize in advance, but I don’t know the difference between Star Wars and Star Trek. My male coworkers hassle me for it and have tried to teach me but I still don’t know. So, if I get my references mixed up (which I’m bound to do), don’t get your panties in a bunch.

It’s actually because I’m hideous when the suit and mask are off. I’m a real hot mess.

Here’s the cheat sheet:

Star Wars = Epic awesomeness!
Star Trek = Nerds that never kiss girls.

Hope that helps.

Okay, I think I have it…

So you’re a huge fan of Star Trek.

Thanks, I feel better knowing I can always go back to this page and know where your loyalties are.

So wait, which one do you identify with?
