Yessir you were.

Well why didn’t you come over to say hello? You could have been all…hey man, I’m ddot76 and i’d be all…“dude, where’s court (i’d vocalize the underscores of course) so we can get us a taste of that attitude live and in livin’ colour!”

seriously tho, i also did reverse pushups in there, i own that joint

on a side note, the number of guys with impressive physiques at the location has grown a bit since i was there last

oh, and for the ladies - ya, that jersey is a captain’s jersey, don’t be shy, come say hi

Next time I’ll know.

You were also doing incline DB press?

I was supersetting Incline’s with Corner CG Row’s.

As for Court’s attitude, I’ve had my fair share. You can have that all to your own. (Especially these days).

if i list one more exercise, my coach’ll at least have verified that i’m following the routine he laid out haha

but yeah, i was…beside that blonde dude that i swear to christ LIVES at the gym…he’s a big bastard

  1. I don’t have attitude. At all. I’m just a bitch.
  2. I think I know who you’re talking about re: blonde dude. Loud? Sweaty? If so, he’s not a big bastard, just a big teddy bear.
  3. Do you ever wear anything else besides a dundas blues jersey? If not, I’ll try to come by Saturday for some mobility/cardio and by like “Yo, NeelyDan, I’m court!” hahaha

Wednesday January 7, Gym, Hamilton Location

Ouroboro and I went and tried out my gym but at a new location. It’s definitely different than the Burlington location - the different areas are a little more closed off and I love their cages so much more than our shit one.

Anyways… she also got to experience the douchebaggery that I put up with regularly. She blames me. I think the kid was hitting on her, but what do I know? She mentioned him in her log, but just before we got her into her shirt, this 18-22 year old came over. He was wearing a beater and black workout gloves. He was also wearing a mouthguard (like a sports mouthguard). He told us we shouldn’t arch during bench because it’s bad for our backs. He said our backs aren’t supposed to bend that way. After being as nice as I could, I gave him a dirty look and told him we were powerlifters and basically to leave us alone. He went back to doing crunches, still wearing his gloves and mouthguard.

Bench
45x10
65x5
90x3x5 → Long pauses on every rep
80x10 Pause on last rep

Worked on O’s shirt with her and we actually got it on and seated well really easily today. We put on a show for everyone and they all seem more interested in what we were doing than what they were. Maybe they thought we were lesbians and it was part of our super secret lesbian ritual.

Lockouts at hole 13:
115x5
125x3
130x3

Squat
45x10
95x5
135x5
165x3 belt
195x1 belt
205x3x2 wraps, belt
225x1 wraps, belt

I didn’t plan on doing the single, but between the grunter half-squatting in the cage beside us and the grunter half-squatting on the smith machine, I had to. A few kids then went into the cage once the grunter left and when O was going for her PR they were all standing mouths open, staring. However we seemed to be getting stares from everyone. Apparently you just can’t wrap your knees (or hang from the smith machine to get your suit on) at a commercial gym anymore…

Bottom start squats
Hip height:
185x5
195x4x2
Waist height:
220x5

And… I was spent. Since O got her new squat suit she sent me home with her old one to see if there was a shot in hell that I could sausage myself into it. My hips and ass are clearly much bigger than hers… I likely wouldn’t have been able to fit the legs, but since I couldn’t get it high enough to tell, it doesn’t really matter

Oh and while these war wounds pale in comparison to other people’s (ie. Ouroboro’s legs from her new suit and her arms from her new shirt), I’m happy to join the club. This is a fresh bruise from tonight, it’s still blue… from wrapping my knees.

This might be from the bottom start squats…it’s on the back of my left shoulder only. I noticed it as I was crawling into my epsom salt bath.

I said I’d give those legs a beating.

Bow Chicka Wow Wow

I never get a Bow Chicka from you. Jerk.

I thought I hadn’t gotten any bruises from the last time I wrapped my knees (Saturday I think), but they showed up today. Weird.

I’ll give you Bow Chicka if it makes you feel better! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m glad you feel better…

I’m cranky as fuck today. Lower carb to make weight + PMS + tiredness and sore muscles does not make a very nice Courtney. Just ask Bartl. I bet he wishes he was arriving today given the pleasantness that is me.

I’ve basically barricaded myself in my office hoping that nobody comes in. However word has gotten around that I got into grad school so everyone seems to want to talk to me and offer me advice today. I’m practising smiling and nodding while not listening because I’m actually plotting their death…

You really are smrt if you can do both of these at the same time. I have practice drills for smiling and thinking.

Have you considered going to grad school in Denver? I would make you be my friend and teach you to enjoy low carbs.

Well you are A) both blonde, and 2. both canadian…so smiling and more importantly thinking are a dramatic challenge.

And yes court, I wish I was coming in today to experience your unpleasantness, so I could smack it out of you.

How low of carbs are you talking btw? I don’t know how much you normally eat, but why not just add in cardio instead of ‘starving,’ yourself?
Just curious!

I thought I had a low(ish) carb diet in general. When I was talking to bodybuilder employer yesterday, he laughed at my food and said that’s what he has when he’s carbing up. I feel so weak now and wonder, in general, how people survive on actual low carb diets.

I wouldn’t classify it as “low carb”… It’s lower than what I was eating before and plus it’s all healthy. I wasn’t watching my diet at all before December, and only moderately through December so it’s a change.

As for cardio, the most I will do is light steady state stuff post workout or just to get some feeling in my legs. I have to be careful about losing strength through high bouts of cardio.
