Just some foam rolling, tons of mobility work and 20 minutes of low-intensity SS cardio on the treadmill. It was exactly what the doctor ordered.

I had quite the stressful day after such an up-day yesterday that the light work was much needed. I think if I tried to lift heavy today I would have seriously hurt myself.

A quick recap of the last 24 hours:

  1. Find out I got an interview to top choice MBA program, book week-long trip out to Cali, including 4 days with Bartl.
  2. Hear I don’t have to leave for Ottawa Thurs morning for a client meeting, it’s local instead.
  3. Get tested for my morphine allergy, my arm nearly explodes (it’s still swollen).
  4. Hear for whatever reason it’s likely to cost $800 to fix my car (wtf, we’re still working on that)
  5. Hear from my boss that we are going to Ottawa Thurs morning for a client meeting cuz the client changed her mind about where she wanted it.

Now it’s time to go to bed since I have to wake up at 5am. Kill me slowly.

Hey, in re: your pink belt, you can hold it and fold it and work it with your hands to try to break it in a bit. I never was able to break in my 13mm double prong belt, but I never had issues breaking in my 10mm lever belt.

Thanks! I started doing that last night and already it seems to be a bit nicer to me. It’s a 13mm single prong belt. Hopefully it’ll be nice to me and I can use it by Wed if not Sunday.

So I saw my super-duper Chiro guy again this morning to test my strength. Everything is back where it should be and my muscles are now firing appropriately. I HAVE to test it out on Sunday and lift heavy - he said no PRs, but pretty much where I was before.

Since I haven’t been under the bar in 10 days (with the exception of Monday, but 95lbs hardly counts as squatting), I’m going to head to the gym this afternoon and work on getting some weight up so my CNS doesn’t tell me off on Sunday.

I also have to deadlift on Sunday which, to be honest, scares me a little. I didn’t hurt myself doing it, but it was the only lift that bothered me, so I have to get that out of my head and just do it.

PS. My pink belt will be ready to come out on Sunday :smiley:

Squatting felt good. All the ART I’ve been getting has definitely loosened up my hips and all of this felt easy. It was slow-ish cuz I was thinking about form, but it didn’t hurt and it all came up. Will fight with my coach on Sunday to get to 205/215/225 for my 5/3/1 which is what I did a few weeks ago. He’ll likely want me to go lighter.

Deadlifting still kinda sucks. It doesn’t hurt, but I was very cognisant of my back. I used my belt for my squats starting at 185 and all of my deads.

Everyone was a fan of my pink belt. A few of the guys commented on it and said they weren’t surprised I went with pink. Two of the guys also said I wasn’t really a ‘girl’ to them. Surprisingly, I took that as a compliment.

When I’m in Cali I need to look for a pair of rainbow leg warmers. And skin tight pants that show off my ass crack. And a skin tight Under Armour type shirt for Todd that will show off his post-comp gut :slight_smile:

Why you ask? Cuz I saw an older man and woman (50s prolly) wearing skin tight pants and shirts, but only the chick had the leg warmers. Clearly they were made for each other.

Today was such a weird day at the club. I thought there were going to be a couple domestic disputes… O couldn’t have done anything right if it killed her. Way to make someone feel confident going into a meet…she also was pretty dumb :slight_smile: Anyways, I had a pretty good day weight wise:

Video of the 205x3 will also be posted. I missed the 225 because I didn’t want to push it too much with my back. It didn’t move off the floor right away and I didn’t want to struggle with it and possibly hurt myself.

On another note, I now officially have a bruise on the top of my right knee. I remember hitting it with the weight on the way down from one of my reps while deadlifting. It’s pretty colours! :smiley:

And as for the high socks, my work holiday party was the night before and I was running late. I grabbed the first two socks I could find in my clean clothes pile and lucked out that they even matched :slight_smile:

I find I don’t have as much issue with it scraping my shins as I do it hitting my knees on the way down.

So I’m really slow with work leading up to Christmas. It works out well for my trip to California, as well as going to the gym in the afternoon :slight_smile:

Between these sets I was talking to a friend who thought it was hilarious that I can’t do a chin-up or a pull-up. He laughed while I tried. So I made him help me into the top position of a chin-up and was actually able to hold myself there (which I couldn’t do 3 weeks ago). I then did a few 1/28th chinups from that position. I was impressed, he continued to laugh… jackass.

Oh so my squat shoes came today! I’m excited to use them on Wednesday! I’ll miss my sexy workboots, but the squat shoes should make it a bit easier to get set since they’ll actually fit :smiley:

Oh yeah, today also starts my first day of tracking my nutrition/diet again. I need to get down to under 149 (closer to 148) by Jan. 24th. I’m currently at 154 which is where my body seems to like to sit.

The biggest part of this is just watching my carbs on off-days and getting some cardio in. I really don’t want to have to manipulate my water too much to make weight. I’ll keep my cals where they are for a few weeks and we’ll see how my body reacts and adjust accordingly. It’s all Todd’s fault if I don’t make weight :smiley:

So each day it becomes more and more apparent that the apple does not fall far from the tree when it comes to me and my mother. My mom has a pretty stressful, important job and doesn’t put up with shit. She had a really bad day at work (network issues, calls from 7am-5pm straight, forgetting her blackberry at home, etc), so called on her way home to bitch to me. As we’re talking I was flipping through a jewelery flyer we got in the mail today and laughing with her about some of the dumb shit she did today.

She’s been bugging me for a few weeks about what I want for Christmas (she’s not supporting the PL by purchasing my belt or shoes… biatch…) and I kept saying I didn’t know. So out of nowhere, I tell her I want a pearl necklace (they looked super cute in the flyer). She replies “Courtney, that is something I cannot personally give to you, nor would I want to. Find a boyfriend and ask him if you really want one. But never, ever, tell me about your sexual escapades again.”

So after we laugh for a while, she says “Okay, but seriously, a pearl necklace… I bet you want a black pearl one too since those are so fucking rare and expensive. You’re a bitch.” She then proceeded to say “Gotta go, bye” and hung up on me. I love my mommy :smiley: She’s special just like me!
