So a few training updates… I couldn’t squat/deadlift this weekend, but after seeing superstar doc/chiro dude again today he said I could work on form for both, but not at a weight that would be considered “work”. I was happy.

So I almost punched my spotter in the face. Okay, so it was RG. He almost got a right jab. I was still moving the bar both times he grabbed it, just very slowly. I had just gotten each of them at the point where I can lockout and he grabbed it. I gave him shit after the first and told him not to touch it until I said “No” but he didn’t listen. I kind of pissed him off with how pissy I got, but still.
I was feeling pretty weak and frustrated after that so I went home.

I so close on the 110. My spotter (a good one) gave it the slightest touch at the bottem and I was able to lock out from there. I’ll def hit 107.5 on Sunday. He said I could have gotten it, but it’s all in my head and I need to get over it. It’s like Ouroboro and her issue she had in her head hitting 200 for squat. 110 is totally in my head. I’ll get it soon though!

Kind of a random session at the end, but I felt good. It was a good day at the gym. Maybe because I didn’t have anyone suffocating me and wanting to talk every 3 seconds.
There was an act of douchebaggery at the gym tonight. Some kid…likely 18-20ish was there benching next to me. Everytime I was getting ready to set up, he’d rack and watch (pervert was prolly trying to get a look up my shirt hahaha j/k). Well anyways, at one point I heard some SERIOUS grunting/screaming and was trying to figure out who it was since I heard it over my blasting music in my ears. So I look over and sure enough, it’s the kid.
Mr. I’m so big and muscley that I wear a wife beater to the gym was benching 185 with about a 3-4 inch ROM and screaming like it was 900lbs. His spotter was also doing most of the lifting.
I was over in a different area doing my CG bench and between sets am standing up with my earbuds out. He comes and stands in front of me:
Dude: “You’re still doing chest?”
Me: “Actually I’m doing triceps. YOU’RE still doing chest?”
Dude: “Yeah haha… so why do you do so much chest?”
Me: “Cuz my bench sucks and I’m trying to make it better for powerlifting”
Dude: “Yeah I figured you were a powerlifter or something because of your arc” (Not arch, arc) “I used to powerlift a few years ago”
Me: “Why did you stop?”
Dude: “I just didn’t feel like there was enough competition for me”
Me: “Okay” (go back to my next set).
I move over to the squat rack and am just doing really light work. I guess he decides to be a hero. He comes over, puts on 225 and did a few sets of low reps of knee bends. After each set I could see him in my peripherals looking over to me to see if I was impressed. I wasn’t.
He overheard me tell another regular that in a completely non-sexual way I loved watching him squat (cuz he goes ATG). The kid left at that point…
I have no good gym stories. I like yours. You seem to attract the wannabe sexy boys and are able to shut them down very quickly. You’re my new hero.
Since I was working out at home tonight the only annoyingness I ran into was my eight year old screaming at me that she wanted more respect because I made her redo the table of contents on the written portion of her diorama.
I went back to watching 2 1/2 men while I worked out and finished my skull crushers. Not as cool as your story but the cat sat with me while I lay on the floor.

after a transcontinental flight, that drive is going to be easy. But I have never been to Toronto before and the winter time seems perfect. The Leafs at home on Sunday?
So I played volleyball tonight and it was my turn to drive since I carpool with a guy that lives down the street from me. We finish up and leave the school and he’s complaining how he had a pretty bad night, didn’t play well, etc. and how when things go bad, everything goes bad.
We literally drove for 2 minutes when I heard a noise and felt my car go a little funny. Wouldn’t you know it, my front passenger tire was flat. I hit a nail.
It was lightly raining and pretty chilly and my friend, being the man that he is, changed my tire for me. I stood outside with him, but still. I’ve never had a flat before and I’ve never seen a guy change a tire. He was just pulling the old one off when I told him that watching him change the tire was really turning me on. I wish I could say he took that as his cue to do me in the rain right then and there, but alas, he just kind of blushed and continued changing it.
That was my entertainment for the evening…

We’ve played volleyball together for a year, but only this fall did we start talking regularly/carpooling. He knows I’m a smartass and knows my sense of humor/how much of a pain in the ass I am. However, most of all, he’s really shy. So I kinda did it just to make him blush…however I’ve had a crush on him from afar (or at least thought he was cute) since we met, so my comment was only half in jest.

So I found out tonight that I’ve been asked to interview at my top choice MBA school in California. I have options for either a phone interview or in-person, but have decided I present much better in person and I also have vacation days and aeroplan miles to use up.
That means… duh duh duh… I’m heading to California in two weeks from Saturday Going to fly in and do my interview and wander around the campus, talk to people, see the city, etc. I’m then going to take the train north and spend 3 days with Bartl. I’m getting so spoiled…getting to see him twice in just over a month haha.
Anyways, I’m SO incredibly happy right now that I need to go to sleep since I’m leaving my house at 6am tomorrow, but I’m far too wired for that.
