I had possibly the worst training session ever today. Freaking brutal.

Bench:
45x10x1
65x5x1
82.5x5x1
87.5x4x1
92.5x3x1
97.5x2x1
102.5x1x1 → PR
82.5x5x1 w/ pause on last rep
72.5x10x1 w/ pause on last rep

My last set at 72.5, Ouroboro lost her mind. She started to give me commands on my 6th rep instead of my 10th. Then, I finally got to 10, had to look at her to get her to start the commands.

She says “Start”, I lower the bar to my chest, but she never told me to press. So I started pressing, she says “Oh shoot, press”, I laughed and got it to the point of almost locked out before she grabbed it. I guess at that point she thought me laughing hysterically at her while attempting to lock out might be a bit dangerous.

Okay, I still feel like crap about that. Sometimes I have major woolgathering issues.

The 102.5 looked easy by the way.

I just got off the phone with the boy. He’s into driving with us. He just has to let me know what’s happening with his mom. She’s driving down later that evening and they’re both staying at the hotel too.

He said that Pete may also come down to help out. That would be great. He just has to wait until his wife is in a better mood to ask. I’ll suggest that he drives with us if he’d like.

This is shaping up to be quite the fun road trip.

Ya the 102.5 felt pretty easy. Maybe you will have the correct guess for my bench in Niagara

Glad you talked to our boyfriend and he’s coming. Did you mention the SC party next Saturday night?

Btw, did you hear when he told Bill I ordered from Inzer? Bill seemed excited to hear I may have gotten the same squat suit as you haha. I think I’ll get a meet under my belt first.

PS. I’m calling out Diana since she doesn’t have her own log…how the hell did you do today???

Okay, I think your videos take priority over his game.

We should make a list of how many T-Nation boys and girls will be there including participants and ‘guests’.

Participants:
Ouroboro
Court
Dianab

Guests:
Sayjin
Bartl (TBC)
Todd (maybe? if he decides to love us)
NeelyDan (cuz I’m sure the squat rack curls can wait another day)

Am I missing anyone?

I just checked the sign up sheet and one of the girls from my PL club is going too (Janet Warne). I might be able to get a lift.
If I don’t hate this sport after tomorrow, I’m signing up.

Hey, that’s good news about Janet being from your club. So far, she’s the only one in my weight class. I was checking the only woman so far in Court’s class. She has competed quite a bit. She can take her though.[/quote]

Janet is in your weight class, but she’s M2. She’s 15 years+ into this sport and takes every comp she attends pretty much, so be happy she is M2. You and I have to watch out for Odette Michaud if she comes to that comp. She is M1, and weighs in at an astonishing 38kg. She looks like a slight breeze will break her in half but she lifts like a human ant. Due to her size, she takes the M1 class every time. So even if we are in different weight classes, you and I will be in direct competition for the M1 class. I think I need to get in some gear…

2 guys from Niagara came to the meet yesterday, a coach and his protegee. The kid is 17 and came to the meet to get his qualifying numbers for your provincials. He is one strong kid and he has an experienced coach. They are after some junior records on the 6th.

More competition for you Court. Another girl from my club is considering doing Niagara too, she is in the open at 60kg. She made a 290 total at the qualifier and blew it out of the water yesterday.
As you guys can tell, I’m still on a buzz from yesterday!

I have no illusions about winning anything. I still have a lot of work to do.

My goal in Ottawa is to make it to class 2. Within the year, I’d like to get to class 1. Master’s and Elite are long term

At the open, I don’t think it goes by age but by weight. Therefore, my only direct competition so far is Janet. I checked some of her lifting results and she is, indeed pretty impressive. All ages at 56 kg compete head to head. For instance, at London it was a mix of M1, junior and open.

Hey, with your numbers winning is not an illusion. You are flying these days.
Class 2 would be sweet and it sounds like a great goal.
So it only goes by class for Provincials, Nationals etc?
There is hardly any lifters in the 60kg M1 class, it would be nice to have direct competition.
I’m all fired up today, I’ve never been an overly competitive person but this shit has got me going!

Okay so I’m stealing my thread back and having some serious girl venting I need to do. I know it’s almost my TOM but this is now twice in a row that it’s turned me into some emotional sappy fuck that can’t seem to keep it together. So vent/moan/bitch about to begin. Feel free to skip over.

Things with the boy seem to be spiralling downwards faster than they started. We (okay, mostly I) seem to have beaten the issue to death but nothing’s changing. I’m doing my best not to compare him to my ex (who I dated for 3 years and therefore knew a shit-ton about me and how to read me) but it’s hard not to have any expectations at all. I want a happy medium - not smothering and always there, but not ‘avoiding’ me either. Fuck.

Rant two. Re: that ex. I recently found out he has a gf which, in itself, doesn’t bother me THAT much. What does piss me off is the fact that we’ve been talking a lot recently, to the point of ‘seemingly’ being each other’s best friends again. He knew all about my guy, but I heard nothing about her until I straight out asked if he was dating her. Didn’t even hear him mention her. He said he wasn’t ready to tell me earlier so until I asked he didn’t tell. I’m pissed that he was acting like my best friend but keeping, what should be, an important part of his life from me for at least 3 months. It also pisses me off that whenever I say ‘her’ it’s with a dirty taste in my mouth because there was an occurrance in which she was all over him while we were dating.

My final emo piece has to do with a friend who I miss more than anything in the world right now. He’s going through a bit of a rough patch and given my current mood, I want nothing more than for the two of us to be with each other to help each other out more than a phone call can do. Something about having jobs and being 5000km away is prohibiting this at the moment. Soon though.

So, this is my emo rant for the day and, surprisingly, I feel better already just having gotten it out.

I can totally relate to the emo TOM (good acronym btw) sappiness. I’m having similar issues of my own.

May I suggest taking the black widow method of dealing with exes. Utilising that method eliminates the possibility of them calling you up and you feeling bad about their current girlfriend.

Just saying.

Does this mean Eric Cressey is waiting in the wings?

So I took my bad mood out on myself at the gym tonight. I also punished myself for my shitty squat session yesterday. I had planned on just doing a shit-ton (word of the week btw) of light-ish (135) squats to get a feel for what my knees/legs should be doing. The 135 wasn’t really enough weight to cause me the issues I’ve been having, so I played instead:

Squats:
45x10x1
95x5x1
135x5x3
185x3x3
225x1x1 (I just wanted to prove to myself I could do it.)
135x5x3

I think I shamed the two guys in the racks next to me cuz they were doing quarter squats with 185. After I did 225 one of the guys asked what my wrist wraps were for so I explained. Then he asked why I had my heels elevated so I explained. Then he asked why I had chalk on my back so I put my earphones back in and ignored him.

Didn’t quite have enough time before volleyball to do a full HIIT session, so I did a lovely 4 minutes of tabata squat thrusters. Todd had sent me a Tabata song where they tell you when to work and rest. I used 12.5lb DBs for the first 4 rounds (so 2 minuts) then 7.5lb DBs to finish up.

I went onto a bike to attempt to swallow the rising vomit (charming, I know) and saw Todd walking into the changeroom so I gave him the finger. He came back out after and asked if I was feeling sick cuz I looked it. Who needs enemies with friends like that?

I also forgot about the guy that I took the power rack from when he finished… I set up the rack and had put two 5lb plates on the ground since I didn’t have my sexy workboots wtih me and wanted to elevate my heels. I was adjusted the safety height so the bar wouldn’t hit it at the bottom of my squat and he comes up to me all proud-like and says “My trainer told me not to elevate my heels like that”. Me: “Good for him”.

Clearly I win queen bitch of the night.

Yeah, you looked AWESOME!

That pasty white skin… those blood shot red eyes… that charming ‘Stay the EFF away from me’ smile!

All the boys were checking you out! Or maybe the Tiger Cat cheerleaders… one of the two.

Maybe after your meet when there is the big T-Nation training session we can finish off with a Tabata free for all. 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off in a Survivor mode. Person who goes the longest wins a free lunch, considering they’ll probably lose their breakfast!

Sounds like fun eh?

Okay but you have to max out on your squat, bench and DL first… 3 heavy singles each. And you have to reach depth in your squat cuz we both know your squats are high.

For the record, the reason I did them where I was was so that not many people COULD see me… I was in front of the mirrors (cuz they’re everywhere), but had a big pillar behind me. Didn’t want to show off in front of everyone. The two girls wearing crossfit shirts looked at me and left after my second or third round. And I’m sure the TiCat cheerleaders were checking me out. Do you blame them?

You get to pick three exercises to do? Aren’t you special?

What if everyone got to pick one exercise that everyone else had to do? That way with 6 or 7 people there you’d get a pretty killer workout.

Hey, I never disagreed with you when you said you scare people.

And last night, after Tabata, you were scary!
