I was given the go-ahead by my physio today to bench and was told I could squat as long as I didn’t feel ANY tightness/pain while warming up - which I didn’t. I also focused more on just ‘doing’ instead of thinking while squatting and my coach was much happier with how it looked. It also felt tons better!
I feel my bench is going to keep increasing - already the 25lb DBs for flat bench are “almost too light” according to my coach whereas last week I was struggling. Also, I’ve been increasing my weight for CG and at the weight I did this week I only managed 4 reps my first session. I think it has to do more with technique than anything, but I’m okay with that. My weights will stay the same on Sunday for my upper body stuff but my squat will increase by 10lbs.
I also found out that I will be keeping the same format while my coach is away for 2 weeks and when he gets back I’ll finally, maybe start doing some singles. Since I haven’t gone through a cycle before it’ll be a guessing game, but I’m trusting in his 30+ years of experience to lead me in the right direction.
Nothing too interesting tonight… I think the four of us are getting used to training together cuz some of the other guys haven’t been around lately. Oh I almost forgot, I have to measure my quad both flexed and unflexed for my young friend who has an obsession with them hahahaha.
