FWIW, when my WILKs score breaks 300, I think I will pee standing up. It was 269 from the meet. I like to set modest goals. I’m not sure what I’ll do if I ever hit 350.

I’m not sure what an appropriate action would be when you hit 350 if you’re going to pee standing up at 300. Let me think about that one lol
It definitely does! And I love being able to squat heavy. Even though some guys make comments about why would I want to lift that heavy, girls aren’t supposed to lift that heavy. Ha!

Last year I had a guy offer to train me after he told me I didn’t need to lift heavy. He then expanded on how he hurt himself lifting heavy.
I may have killed him a hid his body behind the squat rack. Maybe I have anger issues

I think your legs are big as in muscular and strong too. Your calves in your avatar pic are gorgeous. Firm and curvy. And you’ve got that great indent on the side of your thigh.
I get the same complex at times but then I look at an old picture with skinny legs and realize I prefer them bigger! Most days. Besides, it feels good to walk on strong legs, don’t you think?

I guess I’m just a little paranoid because it was really only a year ago that I had fat thighs and not muscular ones (well they were muscular, but hiding under fat)… and seeing old pics make me cringe. I just don’t want to do that again.
Just so we’re clear, I didn’t post that to get all sorts of compliments. I was just venting.
Also, Todd was a dear again and put me in my place commenting on my cardio (or lack of) and diet. I said it was my log and I could whine, vent, bitch and complain if I wanted to!
I feel the same way about my legs. I don’t even like to wear shorts to the gym. I know I have strong legs but I can’t seem to get past the layer of fat on them. It is slowly coming off but not fast enough as far as I am concerned. I just want them to look strong, at least to me.

I would have killed him and hung him from the pullup bar for everyone to see with a sign around his neck reading “I told her she shouldn’t lift heavy”. Then everyone would leave me alone I think.

Does that mean I have anger issues too?
I think it means you need to start fighting!
On a side note, when some kid in class last week told me girls can’t lift heavy I brought up your squat. He looked afraid. It was lovely.

Hahahaha nice! I have them on my facebook profile and I’ve gotten messages and comments on them from various university friends I haven’t spoken to in a few years. I think they scare a lot of guys. Especially when I say things like “Well if you were able to balance well enough on my back, I could squat you”.

I’d say something about how it has to do with Todd’s help, blah blah blah, but he’d say he just told me ‘what’ to do and it was me that pushed myself harder than anyone else, etc. However Todd, feel free to say that anyways :)
It’s all thanks to me… hahahahaha!
Kidding of course. You are correct. I gave you some advice, you followed it and made yourself do it. I can’t take any credit.
Court- I was thinking, and IMO I don’t think size/weight matters as much as strength…otherwise how do you explain women/men pushing or pulling more than twice there body weight?

I think hanging people from pull up bars and smothering men with waffles is what scares them away. But those same violent traits make you who you are, Court.

Weight has never really been a big thing for me. I’ve always, even as a teenager, been at the high end of the “healthy weight for my age/height”. Even when I was training for varsity soccer in peak condition.
As far as size, I do have concerns over this. At the end of the day, I want to look good naked and feel comfortable and confident with my body. Yes I want to be strong and lift heavy and everything else, but most importantly I want to be comfortable being me.
I was just commenting cause you said something about outweighing OS and that you should be able to lift more…If that’s the case, then I should be able to lift more than both of you!
Did a quick-ish session yesterday. Got home from work a bit later than I would have liked and had to play dodgeball at 8. Yep, that’s right. I play dodgeball. The Purple Cobras are the reigning league champs, so we retired the name and logo and have moved on this season to the Spartans
Anyways it was all 3x10…
A1. Front Squats - 95lbs
A2. Push Press - 15lbs
A3. Leg Extensions - 60lbs
A4. Lateral Raises - 5lbs
B1. Stiff Leg DLs - 95lbs
B2. BB Rows - 70lbs
B3. Leg Curl - 75lbs
B4. Pushups
It was good. And not many douchebags around. I did manage to envoke silly girl though and spilled Running Guy’s water all over the place beside the squat rack. Yay Court. haha.
PS. I miss squatting. Front squatting was fun. Great ROM. I didn’t push too high on any of the weights since I was going to play almost 2 hours of dodgeball after which is quite the cardio workout.

As long as you don’t up and sprout a pene out of nowhere, I think you’ll be just fine in that department. If anyone gives you shit about your legs, you can always give them an Ong Bak knee to the face to silence them.
Deadlift form looks good. There are tons of things you can do for grip. Hex dumbbell holds and plate pinches are the first two that came to mind.
Ouro, if I compared my lifts to the guys at the gym (or even the other girls) I’d probably kill myself.
About the legs, its what you think of them, not others. I don’t see big tree trunk legs in the avatar, but then again, I think that 90% of the population has pathetic legs. So, what do I know?
Nice work Court. Are you a competitive volleyball player, by any chance? Your last two avatar pics have you playing beach volleyball, so I didn’t know if you are setting out to dethrone Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh as two-time Olympic Gold Medalists for women’s beach volleyball. If so, good luck.
