Despite the cheesiness, this actually really made me laugh out loud. Thanks

This will be my only rant for the day. I hope.

If I see one more thread in the women’s forum where, whether advice is asked for or not, the program Starting Strength is offered as the be-all and end-all of programs by a certain individual, I will start throwing things or punching people. How come this is only being offered throughout the PW forum and not on the men’s beginner forum where they’re all asking for program advice eh?

Gah.

Okay, I’m feeling better now

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

That certain someone gets on my tits in a pretty significant way due to the reasons you stated. I took him to task about it a while ago and he didn’t post on my log again. He comes across as patronising and unidemensional. (Is that a word). On mine he wrote something about how he likes my workouts because they are similar to SS. If I keep my diet under control, I should reach my goals. All I could think was “Like I give a fuck what you think buddy who I don’t know but thanks for offering your completely irrelevant opinion.”

He never answered whether he posts this boffo advice to any of the men or is it only the mentally challenged women who are recipients.

Whenever I see one of his SS posts in the PW forum I get unreasonably angry . I’m so glad I’m not the only one.

where did he post now?

oh, I saw…
can’t blame the guy for trying though! sheesh…

Holy crap O, I totally snorted my water when I read about the mentally challenged women.

I’m glad I’m not alone either, however I figured after nearly everyone who keeps their log current got offered the advice (even if they weren’t looking for it) that I wouldn’t be. I’m almost more entertained by the fact that what was quoted when this spectacular advice was being offered was mostly first post material. Amazing

Don’t lie… you talked about bad things on my log lol.

Apparently working hard is against the question in the Powerful Women forum – you may only ‘work out’. Sheesh.

I can’t top what mpenix wrote, so I won’t try. Kudos to him.

La-la Land is huge, no doubt. The USC campus is more like a compound, with walls all around it. But they’re worth looking into. Berkeley is quite nice and a good program if you can handle the rest of it.

Anyway, I can sympathize. And if you want me to put bad things in your log, let me know. Until then I will continue to hunt he who lurks only in the PW forum, as his advice is a consistent source of amusement and frustration.

I do what I can  Glad to be of some kind of service.

So it’s been quite the weekend… Friday night I went to the Blue Jays game. It was Joe Carter appreciation night. Then, Saturday, was my full day of beach volleyball. Co-ed two’s is fun, however I almost killed my partner by the end.

I was throwing my body all over the place and picking up balls that should have been dead plays. And him, well he couldn’t return a serve if his life depended on it once the afternoon came around.

Anyways, I was pretty wiped when I got home, but took a quick nap and went to watch UFC last night with some friends. Chuck got KNOCKED OUT!

Woke up this morning feeling like a bus and I had a nice introduction. My core, shoulder and hip were pretty sore. I’m feeling good now except for my hip. It hurts to lift my knee up towards my chest. Oh well, I have faith.

Went to the gym this afternoon for my vertical push/pull session. It actually ended up going much better than I thought it would when I walked in…

A. Assissted Pull-ups - 4x5 60s - I’m still decreasing the assisstance. Maybe one of these days I’ll be able to knock a bw one out

B. Push Press - 4x8 60s - 20lbs. The 22.5 DBs were missing so I upped my reps by two and went down to 20lbs. I can only manage about 4 decent reps with 25 and figured after my long day of vball that 20 would be safer.

C1. UG Pulldowns - 3x12 - 55lbs
C2. DB Laterals - 3x12 - 5lbs
C3. Upright Rows - 3x12 60s - 30lbs

D. Tricep Pressdown - 2x6/12/25 - The weight is different depending on which cable pulley I use, but I always manage to find a weight that I struggle to knock all the reps out on.

So that was it. Tonight I’m continuing to rehydrate (I lost 7lbs from Sat morning to Sun morning) and resting and icing.

Oh - Stripper dude was there and felt the need to chat with me and approach me after pretty much every set. When he was leaving I was talking to friends and could see him coming towards me in the mirror.

He touched my shoulder to get my attention (well more shoved than touched) and I turned around and said rather bitchily “Don’t touch me. I don’t like people I don’t know touching me.” He kind of thought I was kidding but the two guys I was with gave him the look that I wasn’t. He left. What a douchebag.

That just won’t do. I’m glad that got taken care of though, and hopefully this is the last encounter with Douche McDoucherson from Douche street.

And whats up with you and Chris with these action shot avatars? I need to get one soon to keep up with y’all.

I’ve been such a bitch to him since he started following me around the gym (not literally, but just always coming over to say something). I’m thinking maybe he’s into bitches? My other courses of action: 1. Be nice (but then he’d definitely think I was into him and his johnson) or 2. Remember my damn ipod and headphones and blast my music and not even acknowledge his presence even if he’s standing next to me. I like 2 better.

As for the action shots Sayj, what can I say, Chris and I are awesome. Glad you like the new avatar though, it’s from my tournament yesterday.

I just have a question: Were you wearing the least clothes there? If not, I would like to know where you stored these other pictures plzkthx. Is that an ankle brace on your foot? Or is it some kind of cybernetic device designed to keep you from jumping into space because of your superior leg strength?

No I was not. My shorts covered more than some of the bikini-bottom clad women. However, I didn’t take pictures. My friend took this (and some other) pics of me because a girl friend and I took on her boyfriend and another guy over our lunch break. The women (clearly) won.

As for my cybernetic device to keep me from jumping into space because of my superior leg strength…it’s exactly that. And by exactly that I mean it’s an ankle brace. I’ve rolled my ankles far too many times playing volleyball and am especially susceptible in barefeet in the sand given the lack of support.

Alas, fiction is indeed more interesting than truth than =(

I agree- LOVE the new avatar Court! Lookin’ good!

My next upper body session is going to rock. I’m determined. Why you ask? Because I got very constructive criticism from another T-Nationer that I really appreciate. And I’ll be damned if next beach season my arms don’t have the horseshoe!
