Returning From Back Injury: How To Eat To Regain Lower Body Muscle?

Hey guys.

Messed up my back a few months ago and have been rehabbing and been building back up slowly since. That’s going alright I’m built up to around about at 50% 1RM right now.

Maybe it’s just in my head but being off heavy squats and deads for a while my lower body has lost a bit of muscle.

I’m wondering how I should eat as I build back up. I’ve heard muscle memory is a thing but I doubt it’s gonna come back in a deficit. I’d rather not turn into a complete fatty but if a bulk is what it takes then I’m willing.
