I’ve come to the conclusion that setting up the ‘right’ song for a heavy set takes a lot of energy, so I’ve vowed to put my ipod on Shuffle and just take whatever the good lord chooses.

Thanks GV! I’m getting past my fear that my groin is going to rip again.

I know I’m not the most graceful creature, but this is about how much space I have between my bar and the rack. Is this normal?

When I have the bar centered I can get three fingers between the uprights on my rack and the collar on the bar.

That wasn’t a very nice comment I made.

I have squatted in racks like that (no side clearance) and it truly sucks. I bang like hell on the way out. In fact, I used to have trouble walking outta the racks at meets until I started specifying racks in.

Your squats are a thing of beauty.

Thanks Dave. I’m thinking I need a new bar…the I’m not sure what you call them (collars but I thought that’s what held the weights on?) that make the bar fatter at the end have screws in them that unscrew threatening to fall off entirely unless you remember to constantly re-screw them in…I’ve tried like super gluing them, but no dice.

Please stop being nice to me…it’s…why it’s…it’s unnerving…

I don’t know what the official name of that spot on the bar is, I just call it the inside collar and if I use something to hold the plates on then that is the outside collar. Is your bar a standard Olympic bar?

Sheesh…you don’t beat around the bush with a fellah do you?

I was believing it was a standard Olymbic bar.

Well, I’m glad I checked in here…Best of luck to you both. I’m sure I wont be the only one who will be curious of your progress/slip into darkness.

Please keep us posted and pictured as you go along.

Sticking with the diet, but back to 5/3/1…Today is Day 8 I think…I’m down to 197 from 205…clothes are fitting better…She Say sticking with it…she’s only down less than a pound, but measurements are roughly 3-4 inches off all around…she’s like 145 lbs up from 138 ish when we got married 21 years ago, so not as much chub as yours truly to shed.

I was on the V and Beer diet throughout my college years and a few beyond. Didn’t lose any weight but it sure was fun!!
