Return to lower body lifting after a meniscus tear( goblet squat/high handle deadlift

Over six weeks ago I torn my meniscus while doing some chainsaw work on a mission trip in Kentucky. I have been doing some rehab work and the pain is gone and I am ready to get back into lower body lifting. However my range of motion is still limited as I can barely squat below paralel.

I thought about starting out with extremely light weight goblet squats on a box and high bar trap deadlifts until my full range of motion and strength returns to the point I can return to back squats and conventional deadlifts.

By the way I am 65 and trying to keep my ego in check. Any other advice would be appreciated.

Do you have access to a dragging sled? I find the lack of eccentric load nice on my knees (also got a torn meniscus in both knees). Pulling one backwards is fantastic on the quads, and dragging it forward can really hammer the hamstrings.

T3hPwnisher. No I donā€™t but I have thought about buying one. Do you have a recommendation for turf?

Not Pwn but you can make a cheap sled out of a used tire, perfect for dragging on grass or hard surface
