Resting Metabolic Rate Testing

Another question Ellington.

On pages 20 - 23 of Bigger Muscles in 42 Days you talk about getting your two subjects RMR tested. Do you think this added value to your calorie calculations and their successes? I have the opportunity to get my RMR tested but it’s quite expensive and I’m not sure it’s worth it.

Thanks,

Jeff

Jeff, Do the tests. You’ll get some interesting data.

Hi Ell,

At a height of 5’ 9 1/4” and a fasted weight of 196 1/4 lbs (in gym clothes - usually 191 3/4 after elimination in the morning), my resting metabolic rate came out at 1772 calories per day.

I’d like to drop to around 10% bodyfat or less (currently 12.4%) so I’ve dropped my intake to 1800 calories a day, plus an additional 400 calories on training days.

I’ve invested in some smart scales so have been doing this to the gram / calorie)!

I’ll keep you posted.

Thanks,

Jeff
