I’d added buckeyegirl a while back, but she didn’t stick around long. IIRC she’s been the only woman in it to date.
Well, she’s like 185 cool points ahead of me, BUT IMA GET THERE.
YEP YEP YEP!!!

Wasn’t there an olympic lifter in there too? Darby? Debra? Something along those lines… I’m bad with names.

I also want to one day join the BOI, but I don’t feel I have the qualities that would make me very motivating yet, both as a lifter and a poster.

Yes that’s right, debrad posted there for a bit, that also didn’t last long.

Your statements re: “people come crawling out…to post in those shitstorm threads…no publicity is bad…” is true. As nauseating and brain-cell destroying as those posts (and the majority of the posters) are, it does increase the website traffic. And it doesn’t take a genius to figure that the more hits your website gets, the better it (generally) is.

Which is why bbing.com is such a great resource? I will have to respectfully disagree with you on that point. It seems, more often than not, that more hits results from a wider base of appeal rather than providing higher quality resource material.

I’ll use OMIM (Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man) as an example here. Probably, a lot of people have never heard of it, but it’s a great resource for genetic diseases and such, although written at a level that would likely be hard for someone without a strong biological sciences background to understand on their first read. Where would laymen go instead to look up info on genetic disease? Wikipedia. Gets tons of hits, but its an unquestionably inferior resource for the specified purpose.

I will admit that those shitstorm threads can be entertaining, though.

Yes, it certainly doesn’t take a ridiculous number of individuals for high quality content…just requires some high quality, dedicated individuals.

Sorry for not seeing this until now, I’ve had my hands very full last…well, 6 weeks or so haha. Traditionally no “rights of passage” beyond people who want in PMing me (originally was maraduermeat and stu as well, but of course meat’s gone [RIP], and stu’s just generally a very busy guy) with the request, if I don’t know much about the poster I’ll get some background from them (training and current status), and if they seem like a good addition, they’re in. In a couple cases, I’ve asked guys to work at certain things for a few months, sometimes more, before admission. Just a case-by-case basis thing.

In the case of more experienced/advanced guys like yourself, I would have no qualms at all with adding you at your simple request, I’m certain you’d be a great addition and wealth of knowledge. Adding you now. The rest of this post is for anyone else who is wondering how that works, since it needed to be asked by someone who’s been around for a minute like you.
By RIP do you mean gone from the site or passed away? Hope not passed away, meat is a stand up guy.

What samoth sad. Every once in a while on random lifting videos over the internet I’ll see him comment.

What can I do to become a part of the Brotherhood? I PMed H4M but I am not so sure my PM’s are working.

I’ve been trying to post there and didn’t know what I couldn’t, I’d like to be able to contribute H4M, let me know!
