The stigma is being attached to ILLEGAL immigrants. Nobody here is saying that because illegal immigrants are generally bad people (they are - old mates Mum being great doesn’t change that), all the millions of latinos are bad. Nobody here is attaching a stigma to latinos. It is fucking amazing how blinded by emotion you manage to get over a topic that is purely an exercise in logistical considerations.

Besides there is an enormous difference between statistical generalisations and racism. The latter requires prejudice against individuals. As long as you are referring to the collective though, the generalisations stand - and thats not racist. Which is exactly why having friends that are part of a minority is relevant. It illustrates that you can hold to a generalisation without prejudicially applying it to every individual you meet.

And I’ve lost count of how many times people have had to clarify that they are completely fine with even illegal immigrants as long as they are a productive member of society.

Still, i don’t think that illegals who behave properly and are there only focuesd on their jobs should be hated and deported (As long as they don’t mess with people)

I don’t know how difficult is for an illegal to get his/her citizenship but that should be their priority, because any honest person should get an opportunity for a decent life (scum shouldn’t and should be deported, i mean they looked for it).

Because I have seen good people come over illegally. And there are people who come over illegally with good intentions. People acts as if citizenship is super easy to get it isn’t. If faced with crossing a border for a better life in a desperate situation because you wanted you and your kids to live a better life and you didn’t have the time or money to come over legally, what would you do? Do these people “with good intentions” care about that? Do they care that they cause hospitals to shut down because they drain the funding due to ER visits from illegals? 40% of hospitals near the border are filled with illegals, 40%, which is not reimbursed by the government. So do they get the money back? They raise my taxes. Fuck that.

Hey man i get what you’re saying, but do you have an idea of how hard it is to get a VISA so you can go to US legally?? for normal people it is a complex process and 80% of the time they are rejected.

Now imagine how poor people do, they don’t even have a job so they don’t have a bank account record( wich i think is the most important requeriment), so it is imposible to them to do it the legal way and of course goverment doesn’t help a lot.

I just hope that atleast people who do it the illegal way are trying to get their citizenship ASAP.
