Why are illegals of today different from ones of yesterday? Illegals fill all of the same roles they did 25, 50, 100 years ago. You might be thinking that more illegal immigrants are in gangs today, but the exact opposite is true. Ever seen gangs of New York? Ever heard of the Italian Mob? Do you really think most ofYour argument doesn’t make much sense in a historical context.
They were here legally though…
When an illegal immigrant was caught in those times, they would be deported. Which is what they should do now.

Seriously, will you people stop bringing up shit that happened 100s of years ago? We’re talking about what is happening at the moment, which is the crime of illegal immigration and how they should be deported because they have NO RIGHT to be here.

Am I the only one who is thinking that Drewh and Tuchavito are trolling?
Standard Donkey wrote:

I’m not trolling, i just wanted to make a point, that illegal inmigrants (well most of them) are just trying to survive, and they are not really commiting a “crime”.

But i give up, no matter the way i see it, as long as the US constitution says so, well…

I just hope you never have to leave US to take refuge in another country.

Amd as i don’t want to make enemies or being insulted, i’m out.

Very true.

Why are slaves of today, any different from the ones of yesterday?
They served a purpose then, if I want to keep a person in bondage in my basement, this is something that happened in the past, so therefore it is okay.

The gov don’t want to deport them because they want them here. That way they can further ruin the economy, pull the same old divide and conquer among the people, bribe some votes, and the list just goes on.

Lets talk briefly about what happened 100 years ago. When Europeans came to this country they came to be Americans. NOT polish, german, etc. in America. They had no free healthcare, no welfare, and no housing subsidies. They came for freedom not hand-outs. They wanted to learn english because that is what Americans spoke. They lined up to fight against their countries they just left in the World Wars because they were Americans first and foremost.

Lets look at today.
You drive through certain neighborhoods and you see mexican flags, jamacian flags, nigerian flags, etc. These people would not be caught dead flying an American flag. What would happen today if we went to war with mexico? I am sure we would have protesters lining the streets not volunteers. It is partly our own fault since we allow people to be dual citizens in this country. Why? Your citizenship should be determined where your allegiance, i.e the Pledge of Allegiance. Are they still allowed to say that in public schools in California? Bottom line is that people don’t have the desire to Americans anymore, all they want is to take advantage of our country. That is where our country is decaying at an astounding rate. You want to be a mexican stay in mexico (substitute what ever country you wish)

Really, it isn’t.

I really feel for your problems over there.

Australia has some similar issues. Not any where near as bad. Most of them are asylum seekers, but they are still just trying to take advantage of us. They could go anywhere, but they tend to refuse to go anywhere but Australia… hmmmmmm.

And then the bleeding-hearts complain about the conditions of the detention centres that we put some of them in. If it’s so bad they can go back to their war-torn, dust-bowl, desert shit hole. No body would stop them. When they are finally processed, a lot of them segregate into their own communities and then cause heaps of the same problems you guys have regarding crime and whatnot. No respect for our culture or attempt to assimilate whatsoever.

And the international community seems to feel like we are obligated to take them because we have space. Fucking joke, that is.

With regard to respect and assimilation though, a far worse problem here is Muslims coming in legally. They think they have all these rights other than what our laws provide for. Think they can do things their way with no consideration. They complain because our schools celebrate Christmas… for fucks sake. If they don’t want to celebrate it fine, just ignore it - don’t campaign to disadvantage the majority religion.

And they breed like rabbits. So in a generation or two they will have huge voting power and the country will be transformed the way they want it to be on many fronts. It’s a horrible vision for the future and something needs to be done about it.

Don’t even think about calling me a racist. I share the same sentiments as others here regarding foreigners who want to do the right thing, and make every effort to assimilate - legal immigrant or asylum seeker. There is also absolutely no problem with wanting to preserve their own culture and heritage either, none at all. But don’t rock up and then get on the news and say that girls wearing bikini’s deserve to be raped (this actually happened if anyone is interested. Some Sheikh in Sydney, I believe). This is Australia. The beach culture is a huge part of who we are. Burkas are not.

People try to say that Australia is about tolerance. I agree. But we should not have to tolerate the intolerant.

I agree with the general idea of your post. When people emigrate to a new land, they should adapt to the country. But no, these days, the country has to adapt to the new people.

I hope no one here is arguing that Illegals shouldn’t be deported. Some people disagree on how that should be accomplished ie. wether it’s a citizens responsibility or the governments. I was just showing you how your statement was historically misguided and ultimately retarded.

Are you claiming that illegal immigration levels were the same (or even similar) then as they are now?

Talk about “historical context.”

Sheesh.

Edit: And I’m still waiting to hear about how much the problem affects you Vermont folks.
No. What I’m claiming is the roles of Illegal immigrants have basically remained unchanged for a long time. Obviously the number of illegal immigrants coming from mexico has become an issue. However it is completely wrong to say that illegal immigrants of today are radically different from ones of 100 years ago. I would also say that many of the roles of illegal immigrants are critical to the kind of growth our country is experiencing. I wouldn’t say that all of their roles are beneficial to this country.

Illegal immigrants, (the ones who built this country) came legally through Ellis Island and followed procedures as a part of their stay in this country. They registered themselves with Immigration Services. They had enough class to do that. They also built this country from the East Coast, then moving westward. Those immigrants became a part of America, while immigrants today are showing more allegiance to their home country than to America.

Think I am wrong? Look at how many Mexicans are waving their Mexican flags in the streets, not American flags, but Mexican flags. Many have no desire to learn English, or our American customs here. There is this cultural divide that THEY instigate (i.e Latino organization of (fill in the blank)). Why can’t they be American, not African-American, Asian-American, or Latino-American.

If you came here for a better life, then you need to have the respect to adopt THIS way of life. There is one flag here, one language here, either love it or leave it. This is coming from a native born Italian, and I am saying that right there ^^^.

Yes, I agree. I am advocating that we remove responsibility from some ambiguous “tax-payer” and put it back on the people that invite them here in the first place.

See, that’s the difference between Mexicans and Americans.

Americans will fight for their country, while the Mexicans flee, and bring their
dysfunctional culture with them.

Yes, there are people on here who think they shouldn’t be deported.
My statements wasn’t about illegals 100s of years ago. It was about legal immigrants who built up the nation. I was arguing that those immigrants were helpful to this nation, and illegal immigrants today aren’t. How is my statement retarded?

You also run into problems with voter fraud when they are here, I think this is an even bigger reason to deport them then them stealing from me.
