Nice to meet you man, and awesome job at the meet! 565 deadlift got rocked. You’ve got a 600lb pull from the floor in your near future.

Cool man! Before you know it you’ll be picking up 600+ pounds.

SPF Record Breakers Results- 1390 raw Total at 205ish.

525 Squat- 25lbs PR. As said I have about 20lbs left in me I believe.

300 Bench- Very happy with this technically a Paused Bench PR.

565 Deadlift- 20lbs PR. Had atleast 10 more lbs in me.

I went pretty conservative with my weights for this meet on the advice of Sam. Just get my feet wet learn the system and rules. Then in March the SPF Pro Am in Knoxville, TN he says shoot for some big numbers there. its 16 weeks away so a damn good training cycle length and were looking to to go 575/340/600 for my second attempts so we will see.

You to Csulli and thanks for the complements. Hopefully Sam is saying 600lbs pull for this meet in March coming up so hopefully you guys are right. Hope you’ll be competing with me soon enough. Your a lot more soft spoken in person than I thought you would be lol.

Haha shhh, I gotta keep up my persona.

And btw I’ll be on the platform with you in March here in Knoxville.

Great lifts man! That squat looks really fast, bench was solid no sticking at all, that dead was awesome too . You made gravity very angry lol.

Nice job dude, I knew you were going to kill it! It looked like you could have done another one in the bench video. lol

I hope you are planning on taking some time off and resting up mentally and physically; it can take a toll on you both ways. Take your babe out and eat some fast food, have a beer or two, stay out late then hit the reset button.

Thanks man I honestly feel I left a bit on the platform but, was just trying to get my feel for a meet.

I won’t be taking to much off honestly about a week of nothing then 1-2 weeks light get back into the groove then take off with a 12 week training cycle for March.

16 weeks out from next meet. I am going to start getting ready and trying to correct the weak spots and working lagging muscle groups for this meet. Very excited and ready to get going.

Current Maxes:
Squat: 525
Bench:300
Deadlift:565
Total: 1385

Max Goal for Meet:
Squat: 570
Bench:330
Deadlift:600
Total:1500

Weeks 1-8: Focus on Technique and higher rep ranges (5-8) higher volume sessions. Aim is to correct leverage mistakes, bring up weak areas ( Ham, Glutes, Triceps and Upper Back) and to hopefully add some muscle mass as I would like to compete in the 242s if possible and hopefully not a complete fat ass. Use of minimal Supportive Gear. Thinner Looser Belt, No Knee Wraps, Light Wrist Wraps.

Weeks 8-12: Focus on dialing Speed and starting to up the weights and moving into heavier rep ranges (2-5). Start training on some top weight over load Reverse Bands for Squats, Rack Pulls for Deads, and Slingshot Work for Bench handling meet max goals for reps or up to 10% heavier for singles to build confidence. I will also start working on Pause Pressing and more Competition standards. Light Supportive Gear. Tighter Belt, Light Wraps, Heavier Wrist Wraps, Slingshot.

Week 13-16: Focus on feeling Straight Weight and working in the 90% range with very heavy rep ranges (1-3). Focus on full range of motion and getting dialed in fully. Work up to 95% of meet max goals to build confidence with the goal weights and for them to feel lighter on meet day. Worked amazingly for this past meet so will test the theory again. Competion Style Supportive Gear. Thicker Belt, Heavy Wraps Knees and Wrist.

Congrats on a great meet! A first meet at that.

Looks like you have a good plan for the next one.

I watch you…

Thanks Mahwah glad I did half as well as I did my nerves were shot for some reason. I never get nervous doing strongman but, for some reason I felt like I was going to throw up the whole meet lol. I honestly think I have about feel in love with Powerlifting.

Week 1- Bench Day

Paused Close Bench Press: 225 for 2 sets of 8 and 1 set of 6.
SlingShot Close Bench: 225 for 1 set of 8.

DB Rows: 30,40,50,60,70,80,90, and 100’s for sets of 12.

Incline Close Bench: 135 for 3 sets of 12

DB Hammer Curls: 20,25, and 30 for 12

Seems like a pretty light training session but, rest time was kept between 60 seconds and 120 seconds at most. SO considering I have not done over 3 reps in about 8 weeks I was sweating, breathing, heavy and feeling like dying.

Squat day at the Power Pit with Kristi.

Today felt insanely amazing weight was just flying. I felt like I could have squat a grand to day obviously I didn’t try but, I swear I have not felt the speed and pop like today in months.

Back Squat: worked up to 315 for 2 sets of 5 and then 1 set of 21. That’s a 3 rep PR. Also at a lighter bodyweight weighed in at 210lbs.

GHR: 4 sets of 12 with body weight.
Wide Pulldown: 100,140, 160, 180 for 10 reps.
