The Pens look to be seriously injured, with the losses of Roberts, Malone, Hall, Conklin and now Hossa. Shame really, they are a promising young team.
Yeah, I’ve been hanging around the Pens forums, but I didn’t have the heart to tell them I’d be surprised if they went very deep next year and wouldn’t be shocked if they didn’t even make the playoffs. When will the rest of the league ever learn that major moves aren’t necessarily the ticket, especially when you make the finals.
Losing Hossa was the worst for them by far, but us getting him was rock salt in the wound.

How can Detroit afford Hossa and we can’t? This sucks.
I’m not trying to be a dick, but according to him it wasn’t about the money. He saw it as his best chance at the cup.
There were much bigger offers on the table than Detroits.
Yeah I just got the details from PTI. Pittsburgh offered 5 years for $35 million and he signed with Detroit for 1 year for $7.45 million. That’s quite a blow to be turned down when you can’t get a star to play for you when you just made it to the finals.
