Red Wings vs. Stars

I am a Sharks fan, but an enemy of my enemy is also my friend. Here’s a pint of Guinness to the Red Wings tossing the Stars in 4.

Yeah, THEIR SALAD

Go any Dallas based team!!!

Me too. Thank goodness the Wings are spanking those pansy Stars right now. The Wings will sweep the series.

Oh, and any team from Dallas (or any Texas town for that matter) sucks warm salty donkey balls.

Aikman is gay. Peace out.

Well, that’s one down and three to go! Marty Turko is a great goalie but unforunately (for him)he is the “lone star” on the ice. Everyone else is out-shot and overwhelmed…

Woo Hoo! Go Wings!

FTW! Hey, hey Hockeytown!

Alright! I was waiting for you to show up! Can’t have the Wings in the playoffs without you…

Thanks, RW! I wouldn’t miss a game. Just wish I could see one in person and see that octopus thrown on the ice.

I heard Barry Melrose say Turko is literally 0-7 in Joe Louis Arena… now 0-8 I guess. This is prime sports time in Detroit. Still I’d trade our successes in baseball, basketball, and hockey for just one Superbowl win. Sigh… never gonna happen.

Feel the pain. Most cities don’t have three successful sports teams … at the same time. I’ll sacrifice football for the others.

It’s just a bloody shame that the Lions, who had their share of glory (it was in the 50s but they had it), can’t put together a winning season. I wouldn’t trade the current success the Red Wings, Pistons & Tigers are having for a Super Bowl but it stands to reason that a lot of these team’s success is from shrewd management as much as from talented players. If the Lions want to learn about that they don’t have to look far!

Now as far as the current series goes. From the outset I had the Wings in 5 but after last nights game a sweep is looking very likely! Go Wings!

He was 0-5-2 I think, now 0-6-2

Nope, 0-8-2.

I hate the Stars…they screwed up my pool by beating the Sharks. Actually, I hate the Sharks…what a waste that team is.

I, of course, am a die hard Wings fan and was elated to see the game last night, but I suspect the rest of the series may not be so easy. On the other hand, despite what he says, Turco has a mental block when it comes to playing Detroit, especially in our building. He did have a couple great saves, especially the one on Hank’s attempted wraparound.

I don’t care what kind of crying I had to endure in the Stars forums last night the officiating was not that bad and Homer did not interfere with Turco. The skates are allowed in the paint now as long as you don’t physically inhibit the goaltender’s ability to play. If a slight brush is all it takes to do that then Marty is in for a very long and short series because Holmstrom and Franzen will be living in front of him on the powerplay.

I’ll have the game on downstairs for most of the first.

One more thing here. A quadruple OT game will take a lot outta anybody, but it was Sunday night and the conference finals started Thursday. We are talking about top level professional athletes here. I cannot believe they can’t recover in that much time. Tippet needs to knock that shit off if he plans on his team getting anywhere.

Franzen’s out DAMMIT!!!

We’re still winning, but not by much and Dallas is definitely hangin around.

That’s two down and on to Dallas for two more. Dallas really couldn’t take it though and passed on losing with class with a totally cheap shot to the Wings goalie. Rivero should be suspended for the rest of the series (no need to suspend him beyond that, Dallas won’t last). Hope the Dallas side is real proud of that.

Yeah we outplayed them, but still couldn’t manage more than a 1 point win. Suffocating defense for much of the game with Osgood taking up the rest.

I gotta be honest. Osgood did kinda jab Ribero with the butt of his stick as he went by and Ribero didn’t really hit him that hard. Ozzie sold it like an oscar nominee. I say a game or 2. I always try to judge these situations as if I were a fan of the other team.
