1 NUTHIN!!!
Wings Take first blood! Great start to the first period!
2!!!
Fucking yes!!!
PP comin up!!!
Pittsburgh almost totally disorganized
Damn, Pittsburgh did they’re best not to show up again tonight.
Deja Vu. Total domination! 2 games - 2 shutouts! On to Pittsburgh for 2 more!
I did not think we would manhandle them like this, but I’ll definitely take it. Good job all around for the Wings. I don’t know if the Penguins have much more. They clearly don’t know how to handle a first rate team under this pressure.

That was awesome! And the Pistons won too!
120 minutes of total domination by Detroit. I can only hope that the Pens can come back and make a series out of this mess tomorrow night.
I gotta hand it to the Wings, they are really kicking our asses right now.

Indeed.
I saw the end of the Pistons game too.

Here is why I am now thinking that another parade on Woodward Ave. is just about inevitable and don’t take this as rubbing it in. YOU have a better grip on what’s happening here than the Penguins themselves do. The post game was a disgrace. Therrien is whining about officiating?! And Osgood diving?! Sidney is saying that the Pens weren’t really outplayed that bad, but Detroit just made it’s chances count?!
That my friend is a sign of refusal to face reality and just plain not having answers. There’s accusations of a fix flying around in the Penguins forums!!! Does anybody really believe that if there were a fix it would favor the Wings when the league and the entire country of Canada has been hyping Sidney Crosby and his Penguins beyond the pale as the face and future of the NHL???
I feel for ya man, nobody likes to lose and especially in humiliating fashion, but the fact of the matter is this series from a hockey perspective is quite literally men vs. boys. If Pittsburgh has any hope at all Michele Therrien needs to quit crying about non factors, study that tape like his life depended on it and try to find a way to penetrate our defense and prevent our forwards from waltzing into his zone.
To me the response is worse than the play on the ice. It’s degrading to the club and a slap in the face to their fans. Little league parents do this shit, not professionals. When we lost games to Dallas and Nashville Babcock gave credit to those teams and owned the fact that we didn’t earn the win.
Poll: To win the Cup, Pittsburgh has to defeat Detroit 4 out the 5 next games. How likely is that?

The stuff about Osgood diving means nothing. And how are you not being outplayed when you have been outscored 7-0 in the last 120 minutes!!! You have scored 0, Z-E-R-O!, goals in TWO GAMES! Shut the fuck up and put the fucking puck in the net.
Therrien should fucking know better than to play the blame game when you’ve clearly been outplayed. Crack the fucking whip and get your guys in line!
This game was played much better by the Pens, but the result was nearly identical. They aren’t capitalizing on their scoring opportunities, and they are playing too much dump and chase. They need to be able to carry the puck through the neutral zone with their heads up, and bring it deep in the zone to get some semblance of an offense set up. They can’t rely on Detroit turnovers in their own end to give them scoring chances, because they aren’t making good on the ones they get.
Fuck, this is frustrating.

In the history of the league only Montreal in the early 70’s has come back from back to back shutouts on the road to win a series. It doesn’t look too historically good for the Penguins.
Especially the way they are handling this hole they’ve gotten themselves into or more accurately we have put them in.

Best hockey coverage around. People should check those post game comments again. Unreal. It’s not that we are getting our fatal asses handed to us on a silver platter under glass, it’s that the Wings are running non stop obstruction, the refs hate us and Osgood dives.
Here’s a tip for Therrien. All that “obstruction” you are witnessing is called smothering neutral zone/blue line defense. That’s how it’s done. Try it out instead of whining and you may actually win a game.

Well, we’ll see what happens, but the Red Wings have no problem at all playing on the road. In fact all 9 of Datsyuk’s post season goals have come in enemy territory. Babcock says he likes to just turn the boys loose when he doesn’t have last change.
BTW, they reopened the Penguins forums for registration so I’ve been hanging over there a little, but some of my homeys are making genuine asses of themselves. On the other hand folks there are being a little pissy, but somewhat understandably.
I gotta tell ya. I certainly don’t think the Pens are not a good team and they earned their way to be here, but I do think this year it’s school for the kids. I just don’t know of a different way to say it. 23 cups on our bench, 4 on Pittsburgh’s bench and I think that’s counting Sydor who hasn’t played yet.
Speaking of Sydor, I understand MT’s reasoning behind pulling Letang to put him in the lineup, but mark my words, it’s a mistake. Letang may be young, but he’s fast and skilled though still developing. Sydor is a great player with finals experience, but he’s well past his prime and our forwards will blow by him like the roadrunner and the coyote. All the experience in the world doesn’t help if you can’t skate with the guys you’re assigned to cover.
The problem Therrien has is that what got them here is what his team is good at. That system works with those players. He doesn’t have a good plan B and it took us one period to solve plan A. If I were him I would be trying to find a way to strengthen my strengths rather than juggling lines and personnel changes.
Like I say we’ll see.
Well, Crosby finally got a goal, only took him 7 periods. I doubt this means they want a hockey game.

I’m not worried. It wasn’t realistic to hope they wouldn’t score at all this series.
