Recovering from Staph Infection

Hey gang, new to the forums, so if anybody has a view of where this is better placed, lemme know. Thanks!

So, in the past 8 weeks I’ve had 2 staph infections. I did a lot of moving old boxes and furniture in/out of houses and storage units.
1st on my leg, about the size of half an egg. Not MRSA. Antibiotics and an incision drained it. Very painful.
2nd one started last week on my upper back after 2 straight days of moving in 85 degree heat, sweating, etc. This 2nd one has kept me out of the gym for that long, as I refuse to be “that guy” who is more dedicated to getting a workout in than trying to heal an illness and/or spreading it to others. No way am I giving this to anybody else in the racks.

So i’m on antibiotics, doc says it’s not MRSA, but this thing also has hurt so badly I can barely do anything other than bodyweight work. I’m probably another 10 days away from being fully healed (i.e. the area is fully closed and healed)and over the infection before I am back in the gym.

Has anybody come back from something like this, and has lessons or stories, good or bad examples, what to do/not to do in this?
I’m OK with losing LBs on lifts if I at least still have the muscles to rebuild, but it seems like an eternity since I was in the routine.

Thanks all.
