Recommend A Scale

I’m looking for a nice home scale that wont break the bank, preferably digital. Reason being, the digital scale at my gym sucks, either that or I gained over 3 pounds between 7pm last night and about a half an hour ago which doesn’t seem too feasible.

Thanks

First off why are you weighing yourself that frequently? And its not that you gained 3 pounds jsut that durring today maybe you havent had as big of shit, or you drank more water, it could be anything simple like that. What it all really comes down to when weighing yourself, is to do it at the same time everytime after eating or drinking the same thing/amount. But as for the scale, I personally like the ones used for weighin’s for sporting events. Outside of that I like the old fashioned home ones that have the dial on them that you can easily reset to 0.

Most people fluctuate between 3-5lbs over the course of a day. That is why weighing yourself every single day, or even worse, several times a day is pointless.

I figured there would be some fluctuation but didn’t think it would be as servere as you say, but you do more know than I. So, if my goal is cutting rather than bulking, how often should I weigh myself for progress? once a week?

just step back and think about it for a second … you want to compare apples to apples … so you should weight yourself at the same stage each week (or each microcycle if you are not based on a 7 day week) … i recommend people to weigh themselves towards the end of the work week … such as thursday nights or friday mornings … peoples’ weekends tend to be so random that a post weekend measurement can be full of all kinds of error … if you are strict as hell with all aspects, it really shouldn’t too much matter

That’s a good place to start. I admit to weighing myself more often when gaining, mostly because I try to make sure I am eating enough. When dropping weight, I try to avoid weighing myself for 1-2 weeks at a time. Most of the time, the goal is to make sure that I’m not dropping weight too fast.
