Agreed bro, and I dress the same as them, nothing like an Affliction or Armani Tee, some fresh Nikes or Jordans, and LRG Jeans. Fresh. to. death.
But bro, remember to not put on your fresh clothes `til the very last minute before you head out, so that you’re x-tra fresh.

Nikes/Jordans = Pumas/New Balance
LRG Jeans= H&M/Zara
Affliction/Armani = Metropark/Forever21
I really wouldn’t put the tool-factor of Affliction on the same level as Forever21, lol
You’d put it higher? At least the Forever21 tools aren’t trying to be hardasses who think they do MMA because they go to a weekly class or hit the bag/spar with some partners yet never compete like the affliction wearing douchebags. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been in bars/social settings where some jackass is wearing an affliction shirt and claims he does MMA, but when asked when his last fight was or his next, he doesn’t actually compete.

Although I think many dudes look cool with long hair, you look bad-ass shaved.

Quit talking shit bro. You got a salty attitude, clearly have an inferiority complex when you get so bent out of shape by what others do.

I workout across the street from an MMA gym, and I go out with those guys once a week probably. They fight 3-5 times a year, they’ll never admit they fight in a public setting, most people don’t wanna be bothered. Now, you might be dealing with douche bags, but if I was a fighter, even an amateur, I would not admit that I fight in matches.

OK, I’ll admit I’ve seen some Affliction clothing I wouldn’t mind wearing - it if WASN’T covered in graphics. Honestly, I have an issue wearing stuff that screams who the maker is. Why should you pay someone for the privilege of giving them free advertising? It’s the same with the young kids who wear all that Aeropostale stuff. Seems like everything that store sells has it’s name stamped all over it.

Guess you don’t buy anything from EliteFTS or from any of the folks that are sold in the EliteFTS store.

Most people don’t want to be bothered for sure, the ones that are flaunting all this affliction apparel in my area, seem to be the guys who truly do say they are MMA fighters, yet when you ask who they train with, when their fight was/next fight is they say they don’t actually compete. It’s like someone saying they’re a bodybuilder but they don’t ever diet down, don’t ever step on stage. It’s just silly. I don’t have anything against MMA fighters (have a few friends who do actually fight, one of which will hopefully be getting a chance at a UFC fight soon) and you’re right he rarely talks about it, but sadly in my area, I’m surrounded by a large amount of douchebags.

Who are you referring to? I don’t think anyone is getting bent out of shape in here, we all have our predispositions and judgements of certain sub-cultures but I don’t think anyone here is actively getting mad about what others do…

I’m of a like mind here. Generally everything I have doesn’t have a label name all over it. About the only thing noticeable on most of my shirts would be whatever small logo on the breast that’s there with some dress shirts from brooks brothers, ralph lauren, etc. I’ve just never been a big fan of all the “flare” you see on a lot of clothes, just looks a bit tasteless to me.

I’m the same way. I used to be a graphic T kinda guy (when I was younger) but now that I’m 27 I dont find the look of graphic t’s very appealing. I am definitely not an affliction t-shirt kinda guy but I see the appeal.

They found a nitch in the market and have done very well branding their clothing line. They make shirts that are designed for guys with some muscle (unlike most clothing companies) so I have to give them props for that.

Its not really my thing but I can see why a lot of people like it.

Very true. If they did one thing truly great it’s their marketing. Hell I’d buy some of the shirts just for the cut since as you said very few companies have shirts made for people with muscle that just don’t look like crap (I think affliction looks like crap but mainly because of the graphics, not because of the cut) if they’d just make some plain ones, even though I very rarely wear t-shirts unless I’m coaching/training.

As a side note, while I think the graphics are dumb with affliction, the general issue I have is with the culture of people in my area that tend to wear it. I’d probably feel the same way about Elitefts stuff if it ever got really going and skinny guys who never lifted a weight in their life started wearing it and claiming they were powerlifters. I’d then proceed to say these guys suck at life. Another sub-culture that I’ve been seeing more and more especially in the younger ages (I coach high school rowing) is a “lax-bro” subculture that is beyond idiotic that involves calf socks, longer hair (almost mullet) that they call “flo” and the incessant use of ridiculously stupid phrases.

Is the “lax” in lax-bro for “relaxed” or for Lacrosse?
John Romaniello wrote:

Lacrosse.

completely unsurprising.

Thanks for clarifying.
John Romaniello wrote:

It’s a miserable subculture. Anyone I see at my ROWING practices imitating the stupidity of this sub-culture does prowler sprints. Amazingly enough, it’s the girls that are more hooked on it then the guys team (I coach both high school men and women). At least I’m getting them used to the prowler though and it sure is entertaining for me.

One of my athletes has this in his FB profile.

"Lacrosse Players - The best kind of person in the world. The cockiest, dirtiest most irresponsible group of athletes in the universe. Will hook up with any broad and come back and tell all his buddies about it. Will booze at least 3 times a week and pretend they are still dedicated. Not afraid to live the dream until they are 35 then realize they never made it anywhere. Ladies love us. Guys want to be us. We are the soul of the universe… "

Pretty much sums it up.
