Thanks GV! My present to myself next year is a 450 squat… still need to hit the 405 before the years end, but it’s going to happen!

Thanks Matty! Had to get the cowboy ribeye (massive piece of meat with the bone in). Only ate half of the steak that night, but it made for an awesome breakfast the following morning. My wife was laughing at me while I spent 10 minutes literally gnawing the final remnants of meat off the bone. That thing was so good.

LOL, thanks Minimal! And to be fair, I prefaced my log with my age

Whelp, it was a busy weekend and I only managed one lifting session since Thursday, but I did write down the session. On the upside, my hammy is feeling really good and I’m certain to resume squatting tonight.

Warm up: jump rope, DB swings, push ups, static squats and slow OH squats

135 x 5 paused
185 x 5 paused
225 x 5 short pause
255 x 8 amrap
255 x 8 amrap
225 x 10
185 x 10
Bit disappointed, was hoping to hit 10 reps on the 255’s.

Dips
BW x 15
25 x 12
50 x 10
75 x 8
each super set with High Pulls 135 x 10

Giant set: shrugs 225 x 10, rear delt fly 20 x 15, banded tri push down 15 - 3 rounds

OH DB tri extensions

2.2 Mile run after lifts

Happy belated Birthday. That’s a lot of work for one day.

Heaping on the volume, huh.

Thanks Dave!

For whatever reason, it feels like increasing bench volume on some days helps with the lift. Since my schedule has mellowed out, I’ll be picking up where I left off with Madcow. After that, I’m going to be mixing in volume days for bench and squats.

Had a terrible migraine by the time I left the office on Monday and just crashed when I got home. It carried over into last night, but not nearly as severe. I wasn’t sure how lifting was going to go, so I started out with some cardio-esque work.

Began the workout with 150 rope skips, 35lb x 30 KB swings, 20 push ups and 50 crunches. Took 30 seconds of rest between each cycle and performed 4 cycles. Followed this up with some additional stretching as my back was really tight.

DL
135 x 5
225 x 5
275 x 5
315 x 5
225 x 7 for 2 sets

Squat
135 x 5
225 x 5
275 x 5
325 x 3
225 x 10, x9
135 x 20

The deads seemed to trigger the headache again and I had to call it after squats. Wasn’t really happy with not doing any further accessory work.

Headaches SUCK! and Migraines SUCK MORE…hopefully it dies off quickly! Nice work for having a pressurized head

Look’s good. One thing our bodie’s desire to be in homostasis: This mean’s our bodie’s will adjust and conform. The trick most successful bodybuilders do is change it up.I know squat’s are a staple, like bench, but iv have bench at times 530 and at other times much less and when I used less weight and more mind muscle connection,my chest grew in size. The thing about lifting alway’s heavy is eventually all lifters report some form of injury, and later in life osteoarthritis.

Check out old school bodybuilder and Ex-Professional wrestler Ric drasin.Ric has his own youtube channel and interview’s hundred’s of bodybuilder’s from the Arnold Era,and the king of wheel’s tom platz. No won even Today can match Tom’s leg development. see ya john

Headaches from deads? Not good. Have you been overworking them lately? Or checked to make sure form is good?

Hey Cav, fortunately the headaches were not from the DL’s. I have migraines fairly often and they at times, tend to linger for days. When the migraine has mellowed a bit, exercise sometimes will either reduce or intensify the pain. This was a case of intensity.

Thanks for the info Johnny K, I’ll check that out.

Yes but the eyes go at this age, so didn’t really see that you wrote that, and if I did, the memory certainly goes after 35+ yrs, so I don’t remember ever reading that from you
:-p

Migraines, blah, used to get them quite frequently, now they only show up 3 times a year sort of. Didn’t have migraine but just a headache on Sunday that the pulse throbbing exercising certainly didn’t make things better.

I have no idea how you did so many DL reps with it, without puking on the spot (or did you and you just left that out?)

Sorry to hear about the migraines. Any medical opinion on what to do?

Headaches suck and I’m not familiar with migraines but that must be torture, sorry to hear you have to endure these.
