I don’t know that I’ve ever squatted with a close stance!
And I’d be happy with that money set on the bench TOO…awesome ![]()

135 lbs for 6 reps - sheesh. I need to amp it up, lol. Seriously good work Blue.
kpsnap - I’m very fortunate to have Big M helping me out with all that!
Thanks MiM & nlmain!
Today’s training: Metabolic work
5 sets of:
10 24’’ box jumps
10 push ups
10 green-band assisted narrow-grip pull ups
10 60 lb DB swings
I was breathing like a fat kid during this.
Face Pulls 3x10 20 lbs (or whatever unit of measurement those cable plates use)
Box jumps - ugh. I think I’d have puked a lung if I’d done that lot.
love the 60 KB swings…fuck those box jumps! breathing like a fat kid…too funny Rblue!

That is pretty funny!
Those squats look great to me - your training is awesome, Blue. You do some amazing stuff.
I want to try the box jumps too - Need to get over the fear of hitting my shins tho!
Keep it girl!
With regard to your squat depth, that money set looked great imo. With regard to your ass, it also looked great. I really just can’t hold back my my appreciation. You have an excellent physique RB. You look fit, strong, and yep you guessed it powerful!
Seriously, you ladies are all too sweet, THANK YOU for the compliments re: my ass. ![]()
Masch, if you wanna try the box jumps, just do it (once your hamstring is feeling better)! I was always afraid of the big box too, but Big M forced me to do it anyways. Try getting a feel for the height of it by stepping up, then jumping down from it with a controlled landing. If that feels alright, then use that athletic ability, and jump! If my good friend who is 5’2’’ (give or take) can do it, then so can you. ![]()
Today’s training: Deadlift day!
(1) Deadlift 3x5/3/1:
75% = 175 lbs x5
85% = 200 lbs x3
95% = 225 lbs x4 ==> rep PR!!
Plus, I think I’ve discovered a great lifting mantra to use. Prior to my money set, I stared down the 4 plates and the barbell, and thought to myself: “I’m gonna dominate you bitches”. I repeated that in my head throughout the lift, and I think it worked pretty damn well for me!
(2) Front Squat (arms crossed) 5x5: Bar/85/95/105/110 lbs
(3) DB Bulgarian split squat (front foot elevated) 4x6: 35 lbs
(4) Good Morning 3x10: 105 lbs
(5) 1-leg DB RDL 3x10: 30/35/35 lbs
After all this, I went down to the basement with a friend, and played around with the kettlebells for a bit. Did some two-handed swings: 8kg/16kg/24kg, then 4 sets of 10 with the 32 kg KB. I was surprised I had that much left in me after the deads.
Now, time to eat, then off to the movies for a girl’s night. ![]()

I like this so much, that I’m stealing it!

THAT is a solid workout woman! those kb swings at the end…wow! yeah for your PR.
yay for PR’s.
yay pr’s!! and kettlebell swings kill me. in a good way. fist bump
good stuff R.
I like how you described your front squats as ‘light.’
kimba - by all means, steal away!
nlmain - went to see “She’s outta my league”. I was very pleasantly surprised, I haven’t laughed that hard at the movies since “The Hangover”. It had some truly laugh-out-loud moments, plus some really sweet moments. A little goofy at times, but in a way I like. Plus, I covet the boobies of the lead actress.
CBear - fist bump returned
MiM - but, they were light (for me, that is) ![]()
Alisa, T, & everyone else -
PRs are great!
Today was a long, but fun day. I’ve been asked to host a ‘safe lifting’ video that the LCBO is shooting to train employees in proper lifting technique (since a significant number of employees province-wide are currently on worker’s compensation and/or modified duties due to back and shoulder injuries from repetitive lifting).
Today we started shooting. I spent over an hour in hair & makeup to get a “devastatingly fabulous naturale look” (as the makeup artist described it), and then we shot the intro to the video at my gym. The director got wind that I’m into weightlifting, and had the idea that it would be great to open the video showing me lifting at the gym, then describing how my training has made me aware of how important proper lifting technique is.
So, we did take, after take, after take of me deadlifting 95 lbs, and then reciting the intro. Then they wanted an alternate shot, so we did take, after take, after take of triceps pressdowns followed by the intro. I actually found it a lot of fun, but it was surprisingly tiring too.
I trained after we finished shooting for the day. Next week, we finish off the shoot at a local store. We’ll be shooting for 14 hours overnight leading into Good Friday, and that’ll be after I work an 8-hour day at my regular store. Strong coffee is gonna be my best friend that night!
Sorry if this is a repost - I had a server timeout
^ My deadlift bruises. Seems like my right shin is more ‘resilient’ than my left. Hmm…
Today’s training:

85% = 65 lbs x3

(2) Chin-ups 3xAMRAP: 3/3/2
(3a) Green-band assisted pull-ups 3 sets: 10/8/9
(3b) DB Push Press 3x6: 40 lbs
(4a) T-bar row 3x15: 45 lbs
