RBlue's Training Log

Yay! I’ve missed you…

Dentistry is a great vocation - congrats!

I do believe you’re going to get back into training with renewed strength! You’ll see…

Oh and thanks for the love re: the new avi (and that goes for the rest of you ladies too) - that’s Vampirella, fighter of evil, sucker of blood

This is one of the benefits of aging.

“Soft” is a very relative term, Blue. Somehow I don’t think you fit the bill.

And Maschy. That’s not you?

Cal - That can- & thumb-related accident sounds nasty! I’m glad it didn’t end up being too serious. Regarding weddings, I used to want a big, elaborate affair, but a small, no-frills destination wedding of some sort is becoming more and more appealing the more I think about the disgusting amount of money blown on a wedding. I haven’t quite hit the Vegas stage yet, though. Oh, your back looks amazing in your avi!

Kimba - The only thing I’d miss about all the weddings is the open bar… and perhaps the ‘romance’ when you attend with your significant other… and the great sex resulting from all the free booze and romantic feelings. Ok, three things, I’d miss three things. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, I will be moving about 2 hours away for school. I haven’t checked out the school gym yet, but that will be the first thing I investigate once I’ve figured out my loan and my living situation. If the school gym isn’t cutting it, I’ll have to venture further afield.

MiM - Thanks, I made those ‘supersetty things’ up on the spot, so I’m glad they meet with your approval. And yes, it’s looking increasingly likely that I’m going to be a dentist in 4 years or so! ‘Dr. Blue’. Ha ha!

Masch - Aww, I’ve missed you too! Hugs I like the sound of this Vampirella.

Snapper - Relative it may be, but relative to my previous condition, I am indeed ‘soft’. I’m trying to see the positives though. My boobies are fuller, and almost give me some cleavage with the right bra, so there’s that at least! And my abs almost look as good as yours when I suck them in. :stuck_out_tongue:

THANK YOU everyone for the congratulations! I am very happy and excited about my acceptance!

Ok, on to recapping my once-weekly gym outing (sad but true):

It ended up being pretty disappointing. Did some squats again.

(1) Squat 3x5:
65% = 125 x5
75% = 145 x5
85% = 160 x5

=> Just barely managed to eke out that last rep on my money set. I’m happy I made it to the 5 reps though, and these felt pretty good.

(2) BB Romanian DL: Wanted to do 5x10. Started with the bar, then did a set with 95, then I planned to stick at 135 for several sets. About 7 reps into the first set at 135, I felt my left hamstring ‘tweak’ or ‘twinge’, so I ended the workout there.

The hammie feels ok at the moment, so I don’t think the twinge was anything too serious, but I’m getting seriously fed up with all these stupid, random, minor injuries. Especially those associated with my knee surgery (which this most certainly is).

I won’t be able to make it back into the gym until early next week, because of the rehearsal and wedding over the next few days. I can’t wait to get back onto a more regular schedule!! And, I can’t wait to catch up on everyone else’s logs and see how training and life has been going for all you lovely ladies. Of course, if anyone would like to provide me with cliff notes in the meantime, I would be ever so happy! :stuck_out_tongue:

The only cliffnote I have is that you’re pretty awesome. 160x5 is something to be proud of. I didn’t find anything disappointing in the workout.
You were smart to end the DL session early, as soon as you feel something, stop and get ice if necessary. We need you injury-free so you can push out more reps like that.

congrats on getting into dentistry school! good to see you back, woman. that thumb looked nasty. the rest mayb have done you some good.

weddings-meh, i’ll pass thank you.

cliff notes t been absent over the last month as well. working too much but things slowing down a bit. trying to get back on some sort of routine.

Nikki - Thanks for the encouragement! And hot midsection.

T - Thanks for the congrats!! I’m glad to hear things are slowing down work-wise for you and that you’re getting back into the groove.

The wedding, while a super long day, was a blast (although the food at the reception was disappointing - if I want dry, flavourless roast beef I’ll stay home). I was exhausted (and a tiny bit too drunk) by the end of the night, though - I passed out in the bridal suite at midnight until it was time to head home!

Sunday was a total write-off. Other than getting up to eat breakfast at noon, I stayed in bed watching movies with the man the entire day. It was amazing! :stuck_out_tongue:

Monday was back to reality, and back to training.

I benched Monday. My working sets were 100 lbs for 5 reps, 115 lbs for 5 reps, and my money set was 130 lbs for 6 reps. I lost a little strength on this, but I’ll get it back in no time!

Followed up the bench press with Kroc rows with a 60 lb DB. The first set I got 15 reps on each arm, the second set I got 10. I called it a day after that, because the gym was on the verge of closing.

Yesterday was my day off, and I spent the day on the net researching professional student lines of credit offered by the banks, applying for financial aid from the school, and applying for financial aid from the government. I’m ridiculously stressed out about how I’m going to pay for school, not to mention the 1000 other things on my to-do list before September!!

Last night was deadlifts. Working sets of 145 for 5, 165 for 5, and 185 lbs for 10 reps. Very happy with my money set, especially after my disappointing max attempts several weeks ago. I was also told I’m “awesome” by a hot competitive bodybuilder that trains at my gym, so that made me smile.

Followed up the deadlifts with 4 sets of 10 Good Mornings at 115 lbs, 3 sets of 6 single-leg squats to a step, and 5 sets of 10 band leg curls with the blue band.

Today was back to work, and I’ve got to spend the rest of the evening searching for apartments online. Wish me luck I find someplace affordable and clean to live in September. I don’t care how big or small the place is, just so long as it’s not a shit-box!

Hope all you ladies (and any gents lurking) are doing well!!

wowo awesome training RB! 185 for 10 for deadlifts is awesome. 130 for 6 is still good on bench, and you’re right, you’ll regain strength in no time. My lifts have taken some hits recently too, but I need to take a lesson from you and not let it get me down. I hope the financial aid stuff gives you as little stress as possible from here on out!

awesome bench and deads Blue - good luck on the househunt and other chores. Got my fingers crossed for ya.

im trying to decide if i’d rather househunt or blow a leper.

best of luck to ya, glad to see you back.

Heh, I found my flat in a newspaper, went to see it, liked it right away and bought it. Just like that. It’s not always painful. Good luck though - and grats on the dental school.

Hopefully you’ll get grants and stuff that you don’t have to pay back…sounds like you are busy busy busy til school starts…once you get into a routine things will settle.

Hey Blue! Training looked great to me - especially after your hiatus.

Awesome work on the deads mama. Like MiM said, routine is key, so once you start getting yourself settled training will keep on improving

Good luck on the finding funding - school is an investment in your future, so you gotta do what you gotta do…(and no, I don’t mean turning tricks, altho…)

Congrats on getting back in the gym! Awesome about the compliment from the bodybuilder.

I’m sure you’ll find an apt by September. I’ve been lucky with both my apartment finds. Cal is right, it doesn’t always have to be painful.

Money is definitely out there for students. You’ll end up getting way more than you need for tuition and books so that the left overs can be used for splurging or paying off other bills. Are you going full time?

Getting told you are awesome by a hot bodybuilder? Priceless!

Good luck with all that is stressing you.

Alright, alright I’ll come out. Nice work across the boards on your numbers.

Hope you find a quaint little place to rest your head. & congrats on the school entry.

Since my last post, there’s been some overhead pressing (worked up to 65… if I remember correctly!), and that’s about it as far as training goes.

I’ve been busy househunting (Yes, it really blows), and tomorrow is my first day out in London viewing some places. It’s my only day off this week, so I’ve got a busy day ahead of me! At least I’ve got myself nice and organized, though. Google maps rocks, and I’ve got a nice long checklist of things to look for in each place. You’d never know it from the disgusting state of my bedroom, but I am incredibly anal. (There’s gotta be a dirty joke in there somewhere).

On the more fun side of things, I went to a bridal shower this past Sunday at a Russian restaurant, which was fun. I love the way they load the table up with plate upon plate of food to share!

This coming Sunday I’m going shopping for bridesmaid dresses for the final wedding I’m in this summer. I’ll try to take some pics to share.

I promise, I will respond to comments soon, once my school prep slows down a little bit and I have more than a few moments to spare!

we still love ya Blue!

can I be your wedding date? I’ll wear a dress, tux, hell even a leash. I’ll sit pretty by your legs and have the best view all night.

google maps is good stuff, but sometimes it screws up - I know I use it for work a lot. If it’s an area your unfamiliar with you might want to bring an atlas or map just in case. those old fashion things have saved my ass more than once.

Pictures are always good. Good luck with the house hunt!

Hey,
From one awesome Canadian (that’s me) to another (that’s you) I’m hoping you can do me a favour (note the correct spelling).

As you may know, today is Hump Day in the T-Vixen thread. If you could post that lovely pic of your awesome ass out in the fresh air (I believe you were hiking…can’t remember) in the Vixen thread I (and the other men and let’s not forget the ladies that appreciate such awesomeness) would be most appreciative.

Yours truly,
A fellow Canuck and appreciator of fine assness
