The prowler on the beach is a mistake ut grab a sled and do sprints with it on the beach.

Side-Side notes: Golf was fun, I don’t think anyone on my team had ever played before. It was that bad. I did hit a couple of big, long puts for par–in a scramble. Yikes. [/quote]
Sounds like my golf group.
Or why we haven’t played since my Dad got Parkinsons.
Thanks Lady and Gents, for stopping in. Kimba, I usually don’t get anything fun, but its been a spendy couple of weeks.
3’s day, squats, TM 405.
Squats: 45 x10, 135 x10, 225 x5, 285 x 3, 325 x3, 365 x 8.
Front Squats: 135 x5, 225 x5, 275 x1, 315 x1, 335 x1 (PR +10 lbs.)
Notes: I felt good going into the gym and had a pretty good day. I don’t think 365 x8 is a PR, but I was ok with it. I was going to go for 9, but I realized on the last rep that I did not have the safety bars in place, and I was not totally sure 9 would go. I almost passed out on 315 and 335 on front squats, but they went up easy. I cannot figure out how to get a breath after I unrack when its heavy, so I have to get a big breath and then hold it until it gets re-racked. 315 was actually a little spooky, I got real dizzy and disoriented after I racked it. No prowler tonight, boot camp was in the way.
Great squatz!
I’ve never tried heavy front squats, but it “seems as if” you could almost get to a hyperventilating state prior to lift off and then go.
Then again, I’ve tried that with Military Press and saw stars almost immediately.
OK - confession time. (memories flood back from circa 1974)
When I was a teenager I played the “pass out” game with my younger twin sisters.
Someone would hyperventilate and then a person standing behind them would get ready to bear hug.
Hyperventilate, hold breath, get squeezed, pass out…literally. Sometimes for a minute or more.
My Mom would go ape shit when we did this and I remember terrible headaches from it.
Now that I think of it, my twisted mind is probably a direct result.
So there ya go…nevermind…
Outstanding squats. Really impressed by the front squats. Is it your belt keeping you from breathing on the front squats?
Have I mentioned how much the “Boot Camp” crap bugs me? They do that outside the gym I go to. Something about people in cute little outfits doing aerobics and calling it boot camp just pisses me off. Gettin old and crabby I guess.

x2
13 weeks at Parris Island is boot camp.
The stuff they are doing is Crossfit.
Harry, good point on the belt. I am not sure, but I only belt up on the heavy sets and that is when I have trouble breathing. I assumed it was just the bar restricting my breathing but now I am not so sure the belt isn’t playing a role.

If you shrug your shoulders up while the bar is in the racked position, you can sometimes get a deeper breath before descending. Hard to do when it gets heavy though, since you’re keeping the mid-body stiff (I’ve come to hate the word “core”).
DCA, I am going to give that a try next time.
3’s Day, Press, TM 170-
Press: 45 x20, 95 x10, 120 x3, 135 x3, 160 x9.
NG Chins: 5, 5, 5, 5, 5 (superset with press)
FF: 135 x 3, 3, 3.
WG Pullups: 4, 3, 3.
Dips: BW x10, +30 x10, +60 x5, +90 x1, BW x10.
DB OHP: 50s x5, 60s x5, 70s x3, 80s x1.
Notes: I worked out at a new gym today. The CFO wanted a membership at someplace with child care and that was a little “less smelly.” I am still keeping the other membership, however.
The new place was not bad and it was, indeed, less smelly. No prowler, but it did have a real dip station, which seemed to help on dips. It also had 1 power rack and 2 squat racks with very little signs of wear. DBells to 125, round, weights and a pool and a hut tub.
Press is coming along slowly, but it is coming along none-the-less. I also realized I did the 1’s day weight by mistake today.

That is a VERY good sign.

I foresee douchebaggery posts soon!!!
Good to find a couple of gyms that both work for you.
Both your gyms are better than mine. Not that I’m jealous or anything.
They new gym sounds nice. Be wary of the hot tub though. I’ve heard tell of surreptitious reach arounds happening. Maybe that’s just the guys I train with at the Y though. They’re close like that. Still, keep a close watch.
Nice pressing. Slow victories are sweeter.
Please. No hot tub stories.
Deads day, 1’s, TM 440.
Deads: 45 x 10, 135 x10, 225 x5, 315 x2, 365 x1, 405 x1, 445 x1, 475 x1 (PR+10lbs.), 500 x1 (PR +35 lbs.)
Notes: 3-4-5 Club–yaaaaaa, boooooooy!

Congrats, +35 is a big time PR and hitting 500 is big milestone.
