Welcome to the Dark Side

Wanted to start a thread for raw, drug free lifters who find pleasure in making heavy weight their BITCH. I will compete for the first time in 2012 on July 8th, looking to beat all my previous PRs (625sq, 290b, 630dl @198). Im down to 179 and feel great, lets get this party started!!!
Sick squat. If you can sink it to proper depth that would be a USAPL and 100% RAW American record at both 198 and 181, indeed anything over 6 would set it. I hope the meet goes well
thank you sir! welcome…TO THE DARK SIDE (Que imperial march)
Just curious why you say welcome to the dark side? Raw lifting and drug free is pretty much the opposite of the dark side. I’ve always heard gear (both equipment and anabolics) considered more “the dark side”.

HAHAHA…in all seriousness, i consider raw to be the dark side because you have to deal with that little voice in your head that whispers “thats too heavy for you, maybe just try a single ply suit” or “your progress has stalled, just try a cycle”…i believe its harder to resist that little voice than to lift any amount of weight. But instead of ignoring it, i choose to embrace it. You have to dig deep, into the darkest parts of the soul, to achieve what even some equipped or juiced lifters have not. That, is why i consider saw and drug free the true dark side. And also, because its cool to say, and being cool makes you more jacked, of course.

I feel ya on fighting temptation, but I feel like giving in to it would be dark side. Aren’t we technically the “good guys” to all the youtube keyboard-warriors?

I guess it depends on how you look at it. I tend to think a little different from others, but thats no problem. Like i said, to me the dark side is that part of the soul you need to tap into to become a great raw lifter. Also, raw and drug free could be considered the dark side because we will probably never get the press that the equipped and juiced guys get, they will be in the spotlight, we will be in the dark. Idk, it works for me lol

I guess I’ll post some numbers. I’m 18 and I’d like my next meet to go something like 590/425/635 no wraps @ 220.
dude your a freak!!! holy smokes!!! yo teach me how to bench lolol im serious
It’s moreso a goal rather than an accomplishment. I’m getting there.

Ok, fair enough. I feel like I am in the dark anyway. I live in WV and they rarely have meets at all and they are almost ALWAYS Push Pull. No squat. And I cannot find a training partner. None of my friends have the slightest interest in power-lifting.

Raw - yup, Drug Free - yup. Forever suck (by any real standards) YUP !

Someone correct me if I’m mistaken but isn’t Andy Bolton drug free and didn’t he pull a mid 900 something raw?

idk, but im wondering if this joker would post any of his raw lifts…

Anyway, has anyone tried carb deload, carb up protocol for a powerlifting comp? Im thinking of trying it out this time around

Hey Wayne, if you are talk’n bout me here is the ugly truth: 385-255-475 @ 197#. Like I said, I will forever SUCK by any real powerlifting standards…

Now if you’all talking about the Fletch, you would have to ask him personally. Somehow though I doubt his numbers suck as bad as mine…LOL : )

Actually, mine are very similar.

Are you drug free?

thanks Fletch, made me laugh. Then again powerlifting is not my first nor even my second sport. So in reality I

laugh knowing that even those pathetic numbers of mine are still better than 85% of american humanity : )

Always was, am and always will be drug free… !

Well, since I am posting in the RAW DRUG FREE thread, wouldn’t it make sense that I am? Unlike yourself, I’m not an illiterate moron APOCOLYPSE.

I’m guessing he’s asking because you spend so much time on the steroid threads and (roid) rage at the silliest shit.

C’mon man, this is pretty much the best compliment a lifter can get. Calm your tits.

haha I know how apocalypse is spelled, it’s apocolypse for a reason.

thanks for the super tough guy response, it’s a completely legit question as you post extremely frequently in hormone replacement and steroid threads.

and if you were on drugs and posting here it would be because you are a liar, not illiterate, so your posts makes no sense you fool.

My apologies man, i though you were trolling and taking a shot at raw lifters in general. Your numbers are damn good for not being a powerlifter man, keep it up!

Go read my last meet writeup in terms of making weight and regaining weight. I dropped 21 lbs the day before weigh-ins, and after weighing in I regained 27.

I’ll be doing another meet writeup of Nationals here shortly as well which will detail the process some more and changes I made.
