Hey guys, I was hoping you could give a good critique on a routine I will be starting soon. I am trying a bit more of a strength type workout instead of the higher rep/forced rep stuff I have been doing lately. It’s a one on, one off kind of workout, so I’ll be in the gym 3 days a week. Exercises put together are done as alternating sets, I’ll rest 60-90 second after one exercise, go onto the next, rest same time again and so on till I’m done all the sets.
Workout A
Convetional Deadlift (5x3)
Flat Barbell Bench (5x3)
Weighted Underhand Chinups (3x5)
Travelling Lunges (3x5)
Full Contact Twist (3x5)
Barbell Military Press (3x5)
Workout B
Hang Clean (5x3)
Incline BB Bench (5x3)
Bent-over Row (3x5)
Flies (3x5)
Cable Woodchop (3x5)
Pistol Squats (3x5)
Workout C
Barbell Squat (5x3)
Weighted Wide-Grip Pullup (5x3)
Romanian Deadlift (3x5)
Shrugs (3x5)
Chain Flies (3x5)
Decline Situps (3x5)
I was thinking about doing 3x3 for the first exercise in each workout instead of 5 sets of 3, as it’s kinda getting up there in sets. What do you guys think? Rep/set scheme, exercise choice, order, balanced, or is the whole thing a problem?? Any feedback would be appreciated.
