Personally OP, I’d look at getting more calories. Get some red meat.

Do you ever get sick of chicken breast? MAybe you should try some tuna? Do you prepare your food the day before? Or do you do a big cook up on the weekend? Do you use lots of morrocan spice and bbq sauce? Im going to try and incorperate some of your diet into mine.
By the way add some almonds to your cottage cheese, it gives it a bit of crunch and makes it easier to eat. ou should also eat soem fruit.
And also do you use chalk at your gym or liquid chalk?

Do you seriously write tweet tweet in the end of every post cause you name is theBird?

Have kinda gotten used to the chicken by now, absolutely hated tuna nevermind the fact that its 3 times as expensive as chicken/kg which is ridiculous for a student. Like the taste of Worcester Sauce or chutney on the chicken, I prepare my meals the night before and keep it in the fridge overnight.
Fruits are overrated by people who think they know something about “a healthy lifestyle”, the carb content is simply too much, I take multivits so not missing out on much.
Haven’t needed to use chalk/straps yet, got a decent grip (can DB row the 100s for reps)

Yeah I try to get in as much red meat as I can afford, and as for the calories have started eating bread again for the 1st time in about 4 months. PB and J is probably the most calorie dense meal you can find

Nah straight up cheeseburgers.

I use 12 oz beef per burger, 2 pieces of cheese, bleu cheese crumbles, canadian bacon.

All said and done around 1500 calories of goodness in that meal, maybe more.

Another suggestion: brinner. Scramble 5 eggs with a little milk, cook some sausage patties or bacon (turkey or pork), and toast some bread. All together a pretty good amount of calories with nutrients blah blah its amazing. Trust me.

Dont people on this site watch what they eat?

Why is that meal considered a dirty bulk?

It’s 0 carb, around 100g protein, fat varies depending on the leaness of the beef. I eat these (slightly scaled down) even while cutting. Personally I’m a fan of this right before bed, slow digesting gives me fuel all night. And why no bacon? Canadian bacon is quite tasty and great macros (11g protein, 1g fat).

its got 1500 calories, that’ll leave me with only 1000 calories to play with across 5 meals. Thats just too much, will rather leave it for when I’m consuming >3000 calories

lol wut?

Go read up on some of Kiefer’s stuff, you might find it interesting. Personally I always do better with diets if I eat sparingly throughout the day, having higher Ghreilin levels and a large meal at the end, i.e. backload the calories. Doing this has allowed me to maintain strength while cutting for meets/races much better then when I eat a bunch of smaller meals all day long and it helps me feel actually satiated at some point during the day which definitely gives me a mental break.

Also, you are “clean” bulking right? If so, why in the hell would you only be taking 2500 calories a day.

Kiefer? Ghreilin levels? Sorry I’m new to the site, only read Thib’s training articles and troll the PL forum, got no idea what you on about

187x12= 2 244 calories for maintainance
plus an extra 300 which would translate to about a 2lb gain a month, you rate thats too low?
Kinda busy with uni exams right now so cant dedicate all my energy to maintaing a bulking diet

lol kinda surprised that people here aren’t anal about what they eat and stuff, everyone’s really serious and clued up when it comes to training, not quite as serious about their diet though

Where in the hell are you getting 12 as a maintenance level? Most people, Poliquin, Starnes, JB, and others say more along the lines of 18-20 for maintenance, 25 for bulk, 10-15 for cutting. I’d say you are absolutely too low. I’m 192 lbs and if I ate 2244 calories a day I’d waste away. I’ve got to get in 3300+ or so or I start to lose weight, and I’m not doing any cardio really.

People are extremely careful with their diets on this site (or at least a lot are), you’re just a bit misinformed or at least your scope is much too small. Not a dig at you, just an observation.

Ghrelin = Hunger hormone that also ends up promoting higher GH levels.
Kiefer = John Kiefer = very interesting and in my opinion good nutritionist.

Ah I see the problem. There is a difference between people being serious about their diets and being anal about it. The guys who are serious about it take their diets seriously but their diets are simply part of the grand design of attaining their goals. Their diets do not dominate their lives. The anal guys are still 145lbs and wondering why they dont gain any size or strength.

Summation: eat for whatever your goal is. To get big, eat big. To drop weight, be careful with eating.

25?? Holy shit, will have to investigate this further. I blew up on 3200 calories during my dirty bulk, but that was due to too many carbs and poor carb timing. I got the 12 off BB.com I think (and yeah I know poor source of info but thats the only place I could find it), thanks for the info will google kiefer and ghrelin

You’re right my scope is way too small, haven’t been here long enough to get a good enough impression of the posters on here

DixiesFinest perfectly put mate, the forums I’ve been on contained mostly bodybuilders who use jewelry scales to measure food, for the rest of us its really unnecessary to be so anal

Anywho, take the advice of BONEZ to heart, he knows his stuff. Start a log on the site, keep reading, you got potential to go far.
