Rapid Fat Loss vs. V-Diet

peanuts would be a no no…too much fat.

My favorite meal w/ground turkey:

add in red pepper and chili powder, tastes like taco meat…top it over a loaded plate of romaine lettuce…pour a bunch of salsa on it, and voila! taco salad…sort of :stuck_out_tongue:

I am hoping to see 183 on the scale tomorrow…would make a 15lb loss in 4 weeks! My first round I lost 18 in 9 weeks.

Kinda wondering if I could lose as fast with a moderate diet/training and doing more cardio…right now I am averaging a 2lb loss/week…that’s not what I consider ‘rapid,’ but I’ll take it!

It will probably be faster with exercise and less muscle will be lost. An obese or very overweight person might even gain some muscle because they have more energy to work with.

I’ve been limiting my activity per Lyle’s recommendation, but I’m thinking I might really start to kill it and see what happens.

And why does this thread keep falling back to page two or three after we post in it? Seeing as it’s the only one, I’m assuming someone is fucking with it?

I’ve tried the moderate approach to weight loss…but I wasn’t tracking cals at the time, and I wasn’t aware of my gluten intolerance neither.

hmmmm

VIC- I don’t know about that…your body will probably just crash. And I think training more on really restricted cals can backfire. How much weight are looking to lose?

I stopped training over the summer and my diet went to shit, so I have twenty pounds to lose, probably twenty-five if I want to look defined. Obviously I’m looking to do it as quickly as possible, for various reasons, one of which is that I want to get to increasing my strength again as soon as possible.

Peanuts are not allowed on the diet. The only intentional fat intake is 15 gams of flaxseed oil or 6 grams of fish oil (which can just be obtained from a 6 oz serving of sardines, trout, or salmon).

Vicomte, what do you mean by kill it? Do you mean do away with activity or increase it?

Yes, this thread is the ONLY thread I’ve seen in all of the time I’ve been on this site that is regularly fucked with. I have an idea why but I don’t want to discuss it here.

I think we all know why.

Lyle says no flax oil in the updated version of the diet.

By kill it I mean increase it. I’ve been doing just bodyweight circuits three times a week, walking 2.5 miles about every day, and jogging between half a mile and a mile. I’ve only been dieting for five days (not counting yesterday) so maybe I should just chill and see what happens?

I have no idea why you’d jump the gun after FIVE days. What’s the point?

Dude, this diet induces a caloric deficit of 1,000 to 2,000+ calories for most people doing it. Adding more exercise will do little for fat loss in this situation. You might be just setting yourself up for problems. How the hell can one recover from high volume activity with this?

I’m on my fourth week and I think I’m at the breaking point. I was aiming for 6 weeks, but I think this might be my last week. I was doing FINE during weeks 1 to 3. In weeks 2 and 3, I actually didn’t feel it. But two days into this week I really started to feel it. My next carbup is Friday morning and it feels so far away. I’m really aiming to never get into an “over-chubby” status again.

I am down to 184.5 this morning…

I’m feeling the same way as you Brick…just bored with this diet and eager for more training!! This is my second round, and tomorrow marks 4 weeks. Now the issue is that I’ve been dieting for so long, Im not even sure I remember how to eat properly, lol…

How can someone eat too many vegetables? And why would you think this?

I just feel like I should be hungrier. Most people on here go on about how tough it is and how they feel hungry all the time but, I feel good. So I though that perhaps I was eating to many veggies. That is why I asked what kind of fat was being lost throughout the diet to evaluate whether I was on track or not. [/quote]

I don´t feel hungry either. I think if you don’t over do it on the exercise part too much you’ll be fine. I just feel little down, low energy.

Mom, he goes over how to transition into a lifestyle diet in the book.

ya, I know…I wasn’t being totally serious!

Started my break today! what a relief…I’m not going to go crazy…keep protein the same, aim for about 50-80grams fat, and carbs centered around traning(50-100)

I’m eventually going to have to learn how TO EAT MOAR!!!

Congrats on keeping to the diet for so long.

What kind of results did you get? Photos to show off?

I’m on day 3 myself. I find it hard but doable. Yesterday I had my first free meal. I handled it very well.

Tha book is briliant. Really easy to read. Maybe too simple I might buy more of his books to get to the grain  Especially The flexible Dieting.

Well, I started my first round back in July…ended Oct 5th, with a 18lb loss
And started again Oct 18th, ended today, with a 14lb loss…32lbs total!!!

I posted pics in my log over on PW! Here ya go!

Good luck to all! I’ll be keeping my eye on you!

I am now fully miserable and it feels like my body is eating itself.

your just jealous cause I took my break :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

nah, you gotta do what feels right…how long was this round for you?

I thought I had another two weeks in me, but nah!! I WANNA TRAIN!!!

Those are some crazy transformation pics, Mom.

How much energy did you have while on the diet overall? did you stick to 2 times per week training or did more?

damnnn MOM, great job, really awesome work.

definitely i’ll give it a try.

I´m on day 5. 1 kg down, started at 29 % body fat. I am the same weight after yesterday’s refeed. Weird. i thought one goes up in weight. Slowly getting used to low calories.
