Ramadan 5/3/1

So I began my 4th cycle of 5/3/1 at the beginning of ramadan in which I abstain from water and food throughout the day and i was also in a caloric deficit because I was dieting. The combination caused me to lose a bit of strength and found that for OHP and Bench I was missing the required reps.

FOr example on a day where I had to hit a minimum of 5 I would get like 3. When in a previous cycle I had done this weight for over 5 reps. So now ramadan is coming to an end and so is my diet. My question is should I just completely redo the 4th cycle or move on. I am leaning more towards just redoing cycle 4 and smashing the amount of reps I did this month. But would like some more experienced input. Thanks

Maybe don’t lift til it’s over with. Keep training maxes or drop just a tad an start at week 1… I don’t know I’m sure everyone has a different opinion but one things sure is this program requires that you be eating big

Isn’t it just like any other cycle that sucks? If you didn’t hit the reps, why increase your TM?

I would just repeat your 4th cycle. Also, why even bother dieting during Ramadan? Don’t most people lose weight during the process as is anyway? Why be in a caloric deficit on top of it?

I’d repeat the cycle.

The laws of getting stronger dont change due to beliefs. You have to eat. The evidence is staring directly at you.

If you can Google this, I would recommend reading this on managing your nutrition during Ramadan.
