I didn’t think it looked real. I just can’t read her name and not think of Twojar.

Ehh, uhh.

I think this is a difficult position that you might want to expand on. I am far too ignorant to object, but . . . Israel is recognized by most of the world - and I think that might be a lead in for you.

Go stand in the corner.

A nuclear arsenal makes a country pretty legitimate whether people like it or not.

Nobody defends welders. When people tell me something messed up about what a welder did or said or what ever, I just nod my head and wonder what drugs they were on then they did the oopsie in question.

Same with tree cutters. When I build or repair something I make it extra strength, cuz I know what its in for!

Thats like 1.25" × 3" hardened steel.

Welders typically are not attacked as often as teachers or cops.

Simplistic view, but valid.

Thats cuz we’re awesome. But also suck.

Remember the Kursk? The doomed Russian sub?

Bad welds. That guy sucked.

Tepco, and the Fukushima nuclear disaster? Shitty welds. They suck too.

Challenger space shuttle? O-rings. They shoulda freakin welded that shit!

Man, I was all in your corner.

Now I am going to start a thread about how welders have ruined our lives.

So, I m relatively ignorant of the Israel situation. Probably more informed than most, but admittedly ignorant.

Is the nuclear arsenal the only thing that legitimizes Israel in comparison to Palestine, or is it the Palestinians inability to elect a rational government?

I get the conflict with respect to a two state solution, sort of, but, isn’t it more on Hamas and Hezbollah rather than on Israel?

I am learning how ignorant I am through my son, the pro Palestine communist - and that is actually hyperbole.

But, it is clear I need to learn more.

Gotta look back at the history of the PLO. Its a bunch of rabid, violent grifters that inspire more rabid violent grifting.

Thats all it has ever been. A scheme cooked up by a group of phonys to take what belongs to others by force.

Yes, but as I understand it, the PLO is not the Palestinians. Who actually governs the Palestinians?

Prior to their “organization”, nobody.

Its like being Irish or any other nationality in the US. Thats why their whole position is utterly meaningless and they’ve been getting their asses kicked around the middle east for the past 75 years.

If all of the people of Irish descent collected in western PA and declared it theirs, would that make it a legitimate claim?

Same thing, but they raise an army of grievance everywhere they go then violently attack their host.

So like the IRA? They keep electing terrorists, and then wonder why the rest of the world shits on them?

But then it is okay if the Irish in PA raid and pillage a music festival in Ohio, rape the girls and kill 1200 people?

Or, do we need to consider the fact that the people in Columbus treat that part of PA as a prison?

Inhumane conditions and treat the residents like animals?

Its designed to divide and disenfranchise.

They know we’re about ready to flip this fuckin chessboard over, execute the kings and queens, and write a new set of rules that actually works.
So they keep us divided by race, gender, religion, political orientation, and all the other shit that doesn’t matter.

If The People™ saw past that shit and realized how much we actually have in common, we’d have toppled this motherfucker already.

No one wants to be 1st in line, but there’s a LOT of people desperate to be 2nd.

A Fucking Men!

I have been talking about “othering” for a few years.

I’m still centrist. Well sort of… Used to be left, then went over to the middle, then centre left, then middle, now centre right after oct 7 attacks.

I just took the political compass test, I take it once every year or two. I’ve observed a trend

I’ve become less left wing and less libertarian. This test isn’t perfect, and I don’t consider myself to have an authoritarian slant by any means (as this test hints I now do)

I consider myself to be a fucked up mish mash. Socially conservative with a few liberal views, but generally not the far-out bullshit. I can’t align with conservatism nowadays as many conservatives also rail against… literally science… preferring anecdote or conspiracy theories. I’ve always been a man of science, also reflected in my studies…

Ten years ago I’d have still probably aligned myself with the left IF the left hadn’t lost the plot with identity politics, undermining the nuclear familial dynamic and pushing fringe bullshit like polycubes, pornography as a viable career path. I can’t help but feel some of these people have virtue complexes… like my they/them pansexual, homosexual family member who is a rabid supporter of Palestine going as far as to spin a narrative of shitting on Israel when Israel killed Yahya Sinwar… and I was like “Women are animals created by allah for the use of men” (quote by one of the ayahtollahs). How does this align with fourth wave feminism?

“We want all the support we can get, except for those homosexuals! They should be put to death!”

I don’t think she believes me when I say if she was to step FOOT in Gaza OR the west bank with a nice pride flag t-shirt she wouldn’t live to see another day.

If I were in America for this upcoming election, I think I genuinely would spoil my vote. I’m a huge proponent of voting and generally believe not voting is problematic… Not voting to me signifies you care so little about your country you’d rather sit back and wait for anything to happen.

We need an age limit for president… Older than 75? You are out

With the views my generation tends to have I worry about the future of the west. Past generations started to moderate when they got to my age… But nowadays the BS so many colleges preach? It’s scary… Paving the way for an incredibly dysfunctional future.

I can’t call myself a conservative, nor am I an independent… I don’t know what I am. If someone put a gun to my head I’d say I’m right wing now, but I can’t properly relate to most right wingers
