Racial Inequality: What Should Be Done?

Some places like Minneapolis actually voted to abolish the police. Re-examining what’s actually necessary and teaching cops to behave responsibly sounds like a good idea, but if you are going to replace cops with some sort of left-wing armed militia it won’t be better, that is for sure. Look how CHAZ ended up.

No, it’s not. It’s about taking that money and spending it on something else, another government funded agency with no record of success.

Exactly.

No, the vote is in November. If it ever actually makes it to the ballot.

Read Anatomy of the State if you want to go full nihilistic - it’s a short read.

These people don’t understand sound monetary theory, they believe in MMT which is basically “let’s print monopoly money!! it’ll be fine…”

You should listen to Joe Rogan’s conversation with James Lindsay … Lindsay talks about ‘anti-racism’ and a lot of this stuff we were discussing the other day.
@Californiagrown - I recommend it for you too if you haven’t listened to it.

I have.

The best way to end up with a small fortune is to start with a big one. Imagine some uneducated person in the ghetto suddenly getting millions of dollars.

The 50% cut in Seattle still needs to be voted on. I bet it gets knocked down to 20%. This wouldn’t be the first time the city council announced a highly progressive policy and then had to back down from it later.

My 23 and me showed <1% Bantu on my mother, and thus me.

Curious as to if l can grab some of that reparations jack.

I’ll be generous and say you are .5%. .5% of 151 million is 755,000. That will at least put a dent in your 19 million reparations bill.

I will say, some of the reparations math I have seen is absolutely outrageous. The article @chris_ottawa posted is the most insane though.

Gimme the gist of it, no headphones at the office today.

Bantu? That covers a lot of different ethnic groups. Be careful, your African ancestors may have been slave traders.

Sorry I keep bringing up pop-culture references but Chappelle’s Show made a sketch about this. It’s satire, but is it?

I had a conversation with a buddy of mine the other day about wealth transfers - I basically said, if you take money from people who know how to extract value/convince others to pay them money, they’ll get their money back. If you give it to people who don’t know how to do either of those things, they’ll be back to where they started within the year…

lol … c’mon man, I know you’ve listened to a Rogan podcast - there is ‘giving the gist’

BUT Lindsay researched and made a layman’s encyclopedia for SJW speak essentially … they talk about anti-racists for a good amount of time. It’s worth a listen when you have time.

I’ll also say listen to the one with Alan Levinovitz … not much in the way of SJW stuff, but it’s just an interesting conversation imo

I looked it up and it would be funny if it weren’t true. He does a better job explaining this stuff than Jordan Peterson, the Weinsteins, or Camille Paglia as far as making it easy to understand for the average person.

Did you catch the part of the conversation where Lindsay says he developed a nervous tick researching this stuff?

Is this the one where they talk about the 72 gender pronouns? It’s like 1+yrs old?

Or

I was actually talking about the city council.

That’s the only way it could work, and then you would be paying a couple million for a loaf of bread.

Ah, the colonial superpower that was thwarted by meeting the Europeans, and that through a period of five decades.

Also, most of the blonde, blue eyed Afrikaners in South Africa have some KhoeKhoe ancestry as there wasn’t enough European women in the first decades of Dutch rule on the Cape.

Do they deserve reparations as descendants of slaves?

What about Haitians?

Dumas got all of it.

They were still paying reparations to France for ending slavery until the big earthquake. They have a legitimate case.
